Anyone heard the album yet? It entered the UK charts at the dizzy heights of number 15 today. Regardless of all the sales and chart performance nonsense, I think it's a terrific album. For anyone interested, I wrote a short review on my WordPress page here: http://wp.me/p4ZsIb-3a
Haven't heard the new album yet but will soon since he's giving away a free download of it when you purchase concert tickets. I'll get it downloaded this weekend. Looking forward to hearing it and seeing him in February!

Saw Sting last night on his 57th & 9th tour and it was amazing! His tour is all GA on the main floor and we managed to get front row, which for us was such a treat, since the last three times we've seen him, we were far away. He did a few songs from the new album, and for his last song, did "The Empty Chair" which was such an emotional song to end with, but I bet it did leave the majority of the audience thinking as they left. His son Joe is touring with him as well and did a few songs, but also did backup for Sting all evening. He did a nice rendition of "Ashes to Ashes" in tribute to David Bowie.

Sting announced his female alter ego, Rene (why not Roxanne? LOL) is the part of him that loves the arts, culture, fashion, all things frilly and fey Why can't he appreciate all that stuff as a man...or as first and foremost a person, without thinking of gender? His rocker daughter (called Coco but changed it to "Eliot")Eliot Sumner stated she doesn't feel she has a gender, doesn't know if she's male or female, or is "gender fluid," French pop star Heloise Tavenier said the same, also Miley Cyrus. I bet they sure know, for sure, at that time of the month, LOL, not dissing them, it's cool. Perhaps they refer to perhaps the majority of the time when you feel like you're just "pure mind" without thinking of your gender. Or "impure mind" (sometimes), unfortunately, being human.

Doesn't everyone feel like this? The Yin and the Yang in all of us. We have to except ourselves as a totality of gradients...and realize that assigning gender to this and that, is setting up limiting beliefs...things that hold us back in life... Embrace our " whole selves"and not hide behind "male" or "female" only. I AM accepting myself for who I AM and loving myself for who I AM becoming. I think Sting was embracing this. Back to Sting, just love the album and his music!!! Going to play Desert Rose now

British comedian John Oliver (on t.v. in the U.S. now on some late night show or something) made a snide remark about Sting in a recent Vanity Fair mag, called him "boring"--how amusing is Oliver, without his gang of comedy writers giving him jokes? Thanks, L2T, seems you get what I was getting at. I suspect Sting was being sarcastic or ironic or wanted to see what people had to say about his statement.

Don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but Sting's singing was not good at the Oscars Sunday night. His vocals have gone downhill. Guitar playing still pretty stunning.

While his voice wasn't as strong on Sunday, he sounded just fine when I saw him in February. The Empty Chair is also a very emotional song, and I'm sure he was feeling it while up there on stage at the Oscars. Just like many singers as they age, he has his good days and his not as strong days. Same thing happens to Paul, nobody is immune.

I always feel like a woman. I've seen how men treat their bathrooms.
