Ron Howard Directing Beatles documentary
-
Oh yeah, the no segregation thing, and the story "feels like a movie!" WTF? These are "revelations?" And I also see they colorized the Washington, D.C. concert too! Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to this. Ron is just not as up on his Beatles lore as the rest of us.

The Shea Stadium film will be shown too! http://thebeatleseightdaysaweek.com/

This is good news for Beatles fans!

Yet another article, this one has the trailer. And the author begs for unseen footage of Shea. http//www.denofgeek.com/us/movies/the-beatles/256414/ron-howard-s-beatles-live-documentary-will-include-1965-concert-at-shea?ref=yfp

I can't wait anymore!

After seeing what the Pink Floyd camp just unleashed to the public today - we better get Shea stadium as a bonus feature on the DVD/Blu-Ray release. Side note: ===================================================== I'm sorry, but I'm a diehard Beatles fan like most of you guys here and I've gone to great lengths to purchase unreleased material that will never see the day of light publicly but you have to see this new set. This makes the Anthology set from 21 years ago look like slim pickens. I hand it to the McCartney camp for essentially doing this over a 10+ year period so we can afford it each year but Apple will never do something like this. http://www.pinkfloyd.com/news/index.php http://www.pinkfloyd.com/news/pdfs/Pink_Floyd_The_Early_Years_Press_Release.pdf http://www.pinkfloyd.com/news/pdfs/Complete_Early_Years_Box_Track_Listing.pdf

I hear you MetalGod! I'm a hard core Beatles fan like yourself. However, I love many bands also such as Pink Floyd, The Stones, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath just to name a few. I may love many bands, but The Beatles will always be the best and number 1 in my heart. As for Pink Floyd's new boxset coming out later this year, consider it bought by me. Thanks for the info MetalGod.

this is so exciting!! I love the colorized footage too.

Ron Howard had a big hit making audiences wonder if the Apollo 13 astronauts would survive, even though everyone already knows they made it. So it's no surprise that he's promoting "unknown" facts about The Beatles. If you already know that no American has ever died in space and none died on a mission until the space shuttle, but the movie was still suspenseful, then a documentary telling us things we already know can be entertaining as well.

True. But you forgot about the 3 astronauts who died in The '60's when their capsule caught on fire on the ground. They were involved in a "mission" too. ETA: It was Jan. 27, 1967. Gus Grissom, Edward White and Roger Chaffee. Apollo 1. So sad! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_1

To add to that Nancy, lets have Hailey watch the movie entitled "THE RIGHT STUFF!" That movie is great! This movie includes a lot about the late Gus Grissom.

I didn't forget them at all. That's why I phrased my post the way I did.

I've seen it. Fred Ward's portrayal of Grissom made him look like a whining loser. The movie said that he panicked and caused his capsule to sink, and implied that he was responsible for his own death and the death of his Apollo crew because his panic with the Mercury capsule forced NASA to make the Apollo hatches harder to open.

You said "none died on a mission until the space shuttle" - did you mean they had to actually be in the air/in space?

In my opinion, the late Gus Grissom was Claustrophobic!

I didn't know him, so I can't make such an assumption, but since he was an astronaut, test pilot and fighter pilot, I'd guess no.

We both didn't know him, however, we can both voice our opinions can't we?
