Nancy R:
David John, who played George in several Beatles tribute bands, including Beatlemania Live, passed away after a stroke last week. He was just 60 I believe. Met him in Feb. 2015 on a cruise for Beatles fans and spoke with him at length one evening. Super nice guy and a great George. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b1/njr55/The%20Beatles%20and%20Paul%20McCartney/image_26.jpeg
Sad news, tried to locate a write-up ... found none _ except one that seemed to indicate he was alive ... I'm sure you are correct ... not questioning you

David John was only 59 (Born 2/17/57) and passed away Sept. 24th after being taken off life support. He had had a massive stroke on Tues. Sept. 20th. What is really sad is that David survived leukemia in 2002. When I spoke with him on that cruise we talked about it, and I told him about my brain tumor scare which turned out thankfully to be benign. Unfortunately, his wife said they weren't able to donate his organs because of the leukemia, just his corneas. David's mother passed away almost exactly a month before him (Aug. 23rd) So very sad for his brothers and sister, I can't even imagine.

Coincidently, on The Simpsons Sunday night, Homer was filling a super soaker with lemonade and Carl was going to fill his with ice tea so they could "Arnold Palmer Lenny!"

I can name 3 golfers - Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. It's kind of amazing that I've even heard of Arnold Palmer since he was before my time.

Video of my friend David John as George in Beatlemania Live. John Preston is Ringo. He was on the cruise as well. The other guys have since been replaced by Jon Perry as Paul and Jon Fickes as John. (Yes, all of them had a form of Jon/John in their name!)
ETA: I think that is Mac Ruffing as Paul. He is in 1964: The Tribute now. -
I'm sad about your friend, Nancy Agnes Nixon, 93, creator of soap operas "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," has died.

Thanks Susy.

One of the poets who occasionally joined my critique group died. No one even knew she was sick, if she was. She was liked by all. RIP. She is missed.

I'm not sure he would appreciate that. Good song, though.

Bobby Vee has died at 73.
My sister loved him. He became my earliest memory of a "pop idol."
-
I adored Bobby Vee and his music. I feel sad. I knew he was sick and am not sure why I feel sad. I know his wife died last year. Maybe it's knowing their four children have lost both parents within a year. That has to hard.

Was very saddened to read about Bobby Vee and Tom Hayden... Remember Tom Hayden and Jane Fonda...and Bobby Vee was an early image of a "pop idol" for sure. So sad to hear about his four children.
