The 2012 and beyond Political Thread - Part 2

Btw, what is this '#pizzagate' thing I keep hearing about? It seems to include the Clinton's involvement

Many people are extremely disappointed with Washington D.C. The politicians have ran away from the People they are suppose to represent. They are in it for themselves - in their Clubs, groups, clicks etc... Many of these Politicians have been Bought - and the buyer calls the shots. Along comes Donald Trump who has his ears listening to the people. He says the words back to them - they sound good ... A non Politician fills the bill - Fills the void ... The voice is there again - A representitve. When President Obama had a "Super Power" of House, Senate and President - The Democrats had closed Door meetings and told The Republicans they weren't needed and Would be called if they Ever were. This is how Obamacare got plowed through Without a single Republican vote. This is what Organically Started the Tea Party - When the voice of the people Was being ignored by a Set of politicians who stuck Tight together to pass What they wanted. The frustration with the now current administration Is what brings on the Generic "change" a key Word in politics going back over 50 years. They are saying - We the people do not Want business as usual In Washington D.C.

Exactly...the people most in need of change are the same ones who shaped the outcome of this election...67% of Trump voters also voted for Obama for both terms and the percent is much higher if you calculate trump voters who voted for Obama for at least one term (in case anyone wants to throw the word 'racist' around)

Bruce M.:
Hailey, I hope you're right. But I doubt it. Will our first authentic sociopath president be just a "normal" bad leader? That's the best-case scenario.
Bruce M.:
And a dissenting view from Hailey's from a woman who's lived in Putin's Russia: http://www.nybooks.com/daily/2016/11/10/trump-election-autocracy-rules-for-survival/
I'm sure he'd love to be a dictator, but that takes time and this guy isn't exactly a spring chicken. I don't think all the horrible things he said were merely campaign rhetoric. I don't doubt that he meant most of it. But he wasn't elected chancellor of Germany or president of Russia. Our president isn't nearly as powerful. With any luck, he'll actually practice what he preached and tear the Republican Party apart. I don't have a problem with that. That was an interesting article, but I think the author got something wrong. Trump and his gang aren't going to wage war on journalism. That war started a long time ago, intensified by Watergate. Journalism was losing the war before they surrendered this election. All this "liberal media" bullspin is doing its job very well. Americans will cheer when it's finally replaced by state media.

One thing is certain, since everything is under Republican control, ya' all can't blame the Democrats for anything lol
I don't have a problem with Republicans controlling all 3 branches, but I wonder who the scapegoat will be when things don't go their way. I assume they will blame the "liberal media".

A quote I found somewhere (will try to find the source) "The media took DJT literally but not seriously; his followers took him seriously, but not literally."
That's a good quote. Who said it?

Your CNN is very different from mine. I think it should be called TNN, at least CNN International. From the day he announced his candidacy, it was all Trump, all the time. They showed some of his speeches in full and snippets of every single one. They reported everything he said and did. They ignored the Democrats until Bernie Sanders became an issue, but even then it was 90% Trump, 9% Clinton, 1% Sanders. The only Clinton speech they showed in full was the one right after Sanders dropped out. Every single day for the last year was Trump saying this and doing that. The only time they mentioned Clinton was to talk about her e-mail. The American version of CNN might be different, but the international version was Trump TV 20/7, even when there were other, much shorter, elections in other countries and several typhoon in the Pacific that killed a few thousand people. The "liberal media" made him.

The liberal media can't actually vote. So unless that part of the constitution is slated for removal, it's still the Republican Vote affecting all of us. This was well said by Elizabeth Warren. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/2016/11/10/read-elizabeth-warrens-speech-about-working-with-president-elect-donald-trump

It will be nice to call something the President says As stupid or idiotic When it is .... And not be called racist because You disagree. I like checks and balances ... Even if the people have to be the ones doing so. Sometimes like voting for the lesser of the two evils .... One hopes the President doesn't do too much damage. I thought that many times with W. Bush and President Obama And will likely think of that with the New elect.

Agreed. If people can't debate issues, then they call names. So, the past 8 years, it's been racist if someone disagrees with the current president. Reminds me a lot of grade school kids on the playground.

Ah but remember though, it wasn't just one side doing the "closed door" meetings, it was both sides. There was also a group of republicans that met after Obama was elected back in 2008 that made a pact behind closed doors that they would work to obstruct everything and not pass the items Obama wanted. So this wasn't just a one sided issue.

See this is how the media is getting on my nerves, not only during the election, but now afterwards. I just read the exact opposite in a paper this morning, saying that Clinton still has the popular vote and is expected to maintain that lead after the votes are all counted. The media hasn't helped one bit during all of this either.

Florida Donald Trump (R) 49.06% Hillary Clinton (D) 47.79% Gary Johnson (L) 2.19% Jill Stein (G) 0.68% Other 0.27% Had there been a Conservative party candidate to take away from Trump the way the Liberal party did to Hillary, especially in all the states that were close ... How would it have REALLY...turned out? "The Election Is Rigged" ~ Donald J. Trump "You Can Live A Lie Until You Die, But One Thing You Can't Hide...Is When You're Crippled Inside" //oo\\

"Now you get these rent-a-mobs saying How unhappy they are..." FALSE!!! There are hundreds of thousands of people (many of them students) in this Country and many other Countries who are opposed to Trump's long list of bad behaviors, and overwhelmingly prejudice beliefs. There were 5 high schools (and more not shown) locally with several students displaying their God given Constitutional Right to peacefully assemble and announce their grievances. There is only 1 out of every 1,000 of people in these gatherings who don't abide by their Constitutional Rights. And, of course you always get these grossly uninformed and uneducated comments like the one at the top of this post.
