How do you escape?

Running, working out while listening to tunes on MP3 player helps me escape. Knowing that I have 13 months & 5 days left to retire helps a lot.
Its countdown for you Rockerdude! Do you have any party's lined up for your retirement? I'd be having party's every week for 13 months and 5 days! I'd go out in style!
I really haven't thought about the party yet but ya' know that's a great idea! I think I'll start when I have 12 months left & have a celebration every month & when I'm on myvacations; it'll be a party every day.

Rockerdude, you will love retirement! I haven't officially; still go in a couple days a week just to order suture and several other items for the O.R., but I retired from the stressful actual patient care/dealing with surgeons! Like today I was there over 2 hours putting away loose suture, doing inventory and ordering. Each week I order at least $5000 worth of suture. That's usually about 45 boxes with anywhere from 12 to 36 sutures in each box. I love just doing this - used to do it in addition to working an O.R. room! Probably will keep doing it another 3 years until I am eligible for Medicare.

That's the way to do it my friend, you'll be glad you did! Did you ever find the Fleetwood Mac Boston Tea Party shows from February 1970?

I saw that someone has posted the entire 3 cd Boston Tea Party on Youtube over 3.5 hours. They actually have a number of Fleetwood Mac concerts people have posted from that era. I prefer to have the songs separate as I like to put my tunes on shuffle. However; I may download it was well a a couple of other concerts but continue to search for the 3 cd set. I have a wishlist set up at a used CD chain so when something comes in that I want they email me. I've found quite a few rare Cd's. Most recently I picked up a long out of printed Robby Krieger (The Doors) Cd. I saw him live at the El Mocambo in Toronto in 1982

If you enjoy what you're doing you'll never have to work another day in your life. When I retire from my full-time work I will continue to work part-time at something different as well volunteer more. I would like to volunteer at a hospital as staff are always busy besides I'm a cancer survivor & I want to give back.

Congratulations on surviving Cancer, that is not easy to do. My late wife lost her battle to Cancer in 2001 at age 40.

I'm so sorry to hear that; 40 is way too young. It's a horrible disease & I'm very lucky. My father died at 55 of colon cancer. Unfortunately my 23 year old cousin has a glioblastoma (brain cancer) she has finished her first round of chemo & radiation. We're all hoping for a miracle.

Cancer is a tough one to beat! You are extremely lucky and fortunate to have beaten Cancer! Not many can say they've done it. I'm very happy for you Rockerdude, I hope your cousin beats it too!

I do many of the same escapes as the many posts in this thread. I like "creative" escapes ... As in getting lost in playing guitar, piano and songwriting .... Writing ... Stories, poems, or simply on a thread... As a reply, for the fun of it .... And for me cartooning in any form Such as: scribbling and ones with time spent .... The next thing I know ... Some time zipped past
