JAMES McCARTNEY

Eeee Cor Blimey:
^ I'm not moaning about how he interacts though, i've met him at a few gigs over the years and am as shy as him so think he's fine - it's the fact that his autograph has changed from what he has signed for 4 or 5 years into this line... i just think it's a bit of a joke
Sorry, my comments weren't meant to be directed at you as far as your interactions with him or the autograph stuff. I was talking about those in the article complaining about seeing him live last week and complaining about his meet and greet after. Makes me wonder if these folks were going in with the expectations that James owed them that he had to meet with them after and how they were acting towards him. Not saying they were being rude, as I wasn't there, I'm just curious since they did take to an online newspaper to complain about it, just not in good taste, but that is my opinion.

I thought James's "Me" album was quite good, but on the new one, he's reaching for a style that I just don't think suits his voice. He just doesn't have the raw power to pull off these grunge-y anthems.

I was surprised that my signed CD arrived sealed, as usually those signed editions are not delivered that way. For example, Sean Lennon's new release included an extra booklet (signed by him), outside of the sealed CD (with unsigned booklet). Julian Lennon signed little certificates that were put in the deluxe edition of his latest album. I guess James was given a few hundred booklets to sign, which were then sent to the factory to be inserted in the jewel case and sealed. Maybe he was in a hurry or had a deadline, which would explain the quick signatures.

My photos of James playing last night in Indy--all blurred or too dark. Did anyone get good shots? He was fantastic, by the way, and very personable one-on-one. I enjoyed talking to him. Was sad the photos of us didn't turn out.

Thank you paulfan. Didn't you say you saw him play recently? I was impressed. He killed it. We were front center. It was a small venue. He probably lost money in travel expenses. But, I got to know him and his music better last night. I loved what he's doing with alternative music. The opening number was two members of an alternative band in, I think Boston. They were so good. Reminded me a little bit of the Civil Wars, but not at all country. Guitar player and keyboard player. They harmonized perfectly.

Thanks for the link, oobu. James is incredibly talented. He plays the guitar like he was born with one in his hand. He turned me on to alternative music. There's some really good stuff out there.

I really enjoy James' music. Hopefully, I'll get to see him play... Love the new song!
-
Me too

Looking forward to seeing James again in May!

James is incredibly talented! I heard him play in a little dive last summer. He played alternative music. I talked to him afterward about his music. Very nice young man!
