JAMES McCARTNEY

Nancy R:
Poor James. He does himself no favors with this attitude. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2348819/Sir-Paul-McCartneys-son-James-gives-car-crash-television-interview-BBC-Breakfast.html
James McCartney is not the chatty type. Whose idea was it to book him on a morning show like that? Those shows are tailor-made for morons.

This recent interview finds James in a more relaxed mode

Anybody else underwhelmed by what James McCarney considers an autograph, as was sold on recordstore.co.uk. It's a short slanted line.

YES! I was totally pissed off when i opened it up. If you didn't know you'd even paid for a signed cd you'd think it was part of the drawing it's that bad! I'm going to email the company and complain in a day or 2 (too busy right now, long story) - i hope others do the same. I've met James a few years back and i have his autograph from then - and you just need to google it as well to know what his autograph normally looks like.. So i don't think it was stupid of us who bought the "signed cd" to expect it to look like his autograph??!!!! In fact here's a few on google image search... And here's what we got in the post as our "signed cd" James should be trying to keep the fans he has, not pissing them off!

He really does take after his old man, doesn't he? "ZING!"

I don't even get it.

Jim Bob signs like you'd expect an 11 year old might.

Maybe James has two or more handwriting styles--I have two or three, myself. That does look close to what was called his real signature.

I like this interview, he seems much more relaxed and he even smiles at one point LOL

i know you see the positives in everything susy... but come on! No one is denying that James did that tiny line on the cd... but you think that is acceptable when people have paid months in advance for a "signed cd"?? You think an autograph that no one has ever seen him do before, that looks absolutely nothing like his usual autograph is ok? A black line? As much effort put into that as some of his older tv interviews (and i'm usually his biggest supporter, so for me to say that is something..!)

Saw James tonight! Great show and am glad I finally got to see him live. He stayed after to sign things and take pictures, really nice guy! I didn't get a cd signed since mine is on the way from the UK but my friend did and the signature was the same as the one posted above. Hope to get to see him live again someday!

Do you mean the same as the little scribble or a proper signature?

Instead of just sending the CD back, we should record our own song to show our displeasure, and send it back! Just an idea. I need a bunch of you to help with the chorus. Podgie (making raspberry sounds with his closed fist, but you can't hear me) Monkey Just realised many may not know this song:

i still haven't gotten round to writing to complain yet, but i guess this is how he does his sig now - and that in itself is appalling... People who condesne their old autograph into just a line or a squiggle are usually people mobbed such as a tennis player leaving court doing a quick scribble on a prog, or a footballer.. James hardly gets mobbed, but seems to be doing all he can do put his own fans off http://www.examiner.com/article/fans-unhappy-over-james-mccartney-s-scribbled-cd-autographs-recent-show

The "one inch line" signature on the uk copies apparently cost the public about ?1 more than the new cd retails for. On his official YouTube page nearly all the new songs can be heard for free. I don't know what PR he's done since doing the resent US show but his BBC Three Counties Radio interview got negative attention. What have the sales figures been? Unless he's selling the album strongly despite his input(or lack of) it seems like a missed opportunity to connect with the public.

Yes! It's like Hugh Jackman often just writes "HJ" but I was lucky enough in 2004 when he was doing The Boy From Oz on Broadway to get him to later sign a 5x7 pic of us that was taken Mar. 17th at the stagedoor: "Best Wishes Nancy, Hugh Jackman"!!!! Photo of the photo: (well he scribbled a bit, but better than just HJ!) Who does James think he is? Ringo Starr?

Just read the article. While I can't speak for the ones that were at the S.F. show, that was not the experience we had the next night at all. My friend and I enjoyed the show (our first time seeing him live), and judging by the reaction from the others there, they did as well, and we did stay after and meet him. While he is quiet, he was talking to the people that came up to him and signing things and taking pictures. He even complimented me about something. My friend and I didn't go in with the expectations of being able to have a long conversation with James or even meeting him, but it was nice to be able to have a few minutes to meet him and quickly chat before moving on for the others in line to take their turn.

^ I'm not moaning about how he interacts though, i've met him at a few gigs over the years and am as shy as him so think he's fine - it's the fact that his autograph has changed from what he has signed for 4 or 5 years into this line... i just think it's a bit of a joke
