Another thing about Lady Madonna. I always thought he played it way too fast in concert. This slower version is closer to the speed of the original recording. And switching gears, did he get a haircut? The front looks much shorter than when he landed in Japan.
I think he did get a haircut. and yellow flower...on Japanese Internet rumors, that means hope to peace...mimoza? http://fast-uploader.com/file/7049192387207/ Concert was SUPER!
Sweetsake! I am glad that you had a good time! And yes! His hair looks good & I noticed that yellow flower too. Some great pics were posted in the photo section.

Apart from some intial vocal strain on the first part of Maybe Im Amazed ( which is a tough vocal range regardless) he sounded amazing last night. Not to mention that i was approached by Pauls Staff and was upgraded to front row seats for the concert ("a gift from paul")!!! My first concert and an amazing experience. Plus going with my gf who hasnt heard a lot of Paul/Beatles songs , she loved it !!! Although as we were at the front i forgot to warn her of the pyrotechnics on Live and Let die. The heat off those things!!!! People can be nit picky, but at the end of the day, his concerts are so enjoyable and so special, who cares if its not the right tempo, or he skips some notes in songs? We always have the recordings, so lets think if ourselves as lucky and enjoy Paul
So so happy for you!! What an amazing night!! I wholeheartedly agree, let us enjoy Paul, he's still here and he's still rocking.

What songs did he open with this Japan stint? Thanx for info. His American tour of concerts should cheer up us Americans a lot, considering what's been going down in the country, btw

A Hard Day's Night, A Hard Day's Night, A Hard Day's Night and A Hard Day's Night. It's the 2017 leg of a tour started barely a year ago, check back in another year to read about the 1 or 2 changes by then.

Too harsh, haha? Last tour after half a year 4 overlapping fixed spots from previous tours got swapped for 4 new songs, this will happen (with the "old new" songs) again when the new album arrives, but besides that it took 2 full years into the tour for 3 brand new additions.

My first post here after being lucky enough to attend the final show at Tokyo Dome... First of all with regard to the set list, I think the most important thing for Japanese fans is were there any differences from the shows 2 years ago. The answer (thankfully) was yes. Probably about 15 or so changes so I don't think there can be too many complaints there. The songs themselves are almost all pretty great and the only small complaint that I would make is that there could have been more from the solo albums. An interviewer asked me before the show which songs I would like to hear and I responded, "Something from Electric Arguments" D . I knew it wouldn't happen though... Paul obviously can't sing as he once did, but Maybe I'm Amazed was the only song where the vocal decline was really evident. He probably should drop that from the set. It was a great show though and his energy to perform for 3 hours is astonishing.

Yes, it was a great show. And I loved that they put glow sticks on every single seat (to wave during Hey Jude). The sight of - what? - 55,000-70,000 people waving blue sticks in the near dark was very cool.

Absolutely. I read that the seated capacity is 42,000 but that may be a low estimate.

During the Tokyo shows, it sounds like Paul shouts, "take me down Jimmy" during the first guitar solo in Juniors' Farm; a small tribute to the great Jimmy McCulloch maybe?

Lyrics You should have seen me with the pokerman I had no money and I bet a grand Just in the nick of time I look at his hand I was talking to an Eskimo Said he was hoping for a fall of snow When you popped a sealion ready to go Let's go let's go let go let go Down to junior's farm where I want to lay low How life, high life, go let's go Take me down to Junior's farm Take me down Jimmy I took my bag into a grocer's store The price is higher than the time before Old man asked me why is it more I said you should have seen me with the pokerman I had no money and I bet a grand Just in the nick of time I looked at his hand Let's go let's go let go let go Down to junior's farm Where I want to lay low How life, high life, go let's go Take me down to Junior's farm Let's go let's go Down to junior's farm where I want to lay low How life, high life, go let's go Take me down to Junior's farm Everybody tag along Take me down to Junior's farm Take me back \Take me back I want to go back Yeah yeah, yeah yeah

Yep, I know its a lyric, but I had NEVER heard Paul actually sing "take me down Jimmy" during a live version until Tokyo 2017. I know in the three times I saw Juniors Farm live Paul never sang that line. Of course I did, as did several fans around me.

Sorry I thought he always said it.
-
He always sang "take me down, Rusty!" the times I saw it live.

It's fine with me he opened with "A Hard Days Night," nobody told me, thank you for the info. It's a real feel good opener, methinks

It's a fantastic opener and it floored me during the opening week in Vancouver!
