Could you help with my son, please.

I thought long and hard about posting this here.. and if it's not allowed mods pls just delete it i'm sorry. It's not that i'm asking for money, it's more that i'm asking if you could share it on your facebook pages or do anything you can to spread so hopefuly some people will donate. We don't have facebook, or a big circle of online friends, it's more just acquaintances from forums and things. I'm so sorry for putting it on here, we're just very stuck money wise, and very worried about our boy. My partner is the one who insisted on trying to fundraise, he says if we can get 1000 people to dontae ?2 it's done. Many people don't like to donate to things as they think you want ?10 or something, but it's not that, we'd have anything no matter how small, as if enough do it it reaches the goal https://www.gofundme.com/ourbabyhelmetfund I know i've posted a few pics on here of my boy, and i love him so so so so much, and from the front on the pics i've posted you wouldn't have noticed the problem. But it's getting worse and worse, and in this country the NHS wont fund helmets, so we've had to pay for it ourselves. He has an appt in June at the leading childresn hosp in the north west, in liverpool, for them to have a good look at his skull. Even they wont pay for the helmet though. But if the skull gets too bad it can hinder his brain growth and alder hey do operations where they basically open the skull and release the pressure so there is room for it to grow correctly. Having the helmet will help make that less needed, even if they do decide it is needed. I've been so very upset lately over my boy, he is developmentaily behind too, but so many say thats ok, and i know it is and he will get there eventually, except we saw a paediatrician this week who gave the impression things were very very bad, and it set off again my fears that due to his birth he has cerebral palsy. No british doctor will check and test at this early age, yet in the states they do.. He has so many of the symptoms of CP. I've tried not to stress. I let that worry go for months, but now it's back due to the man this week being such a mean bloke (long story). We didn't put anything about that on the page, CP worries are not really to do with needing the helmet. But i wanted to explain to you guys how hard its all been, how much worry i'm under, and how useless it all is over here at getting things done I'm sorry for going on, i might not be back to read any replies for a while as we are so busy... but please don't be mad at me, and if you want to put the link on your twitter or facebook, please do xx

You're welcome. I hope you can meet your goal!

BUMP Nancy, did you use the go fund me page? Any problems with it being another country?
-
Eeee Cor, I'm so sorry that you, your partner and especially your sweet baby boy are going through this right now. Thinking good thoughts for you all, and I hope you are able to get the helmet for him.

Yes. No problems. Used my Amex card as they don't charge me an exchange fee when I pay in anything other than U.S. $. (The fee is quite minimal usually though and is based on the amount I believe) You just put down however many ? you want to give and your credit card automatically charges you whatever the current exchange rate is. Because of Brexit, the pound went down from $1.61 in early 2016 to $1.29 today. Good for us, bad for them. It was $1.28 the other day.

I wanted to write and say thank you so much (and oobu you're a star), for the support and kind words. And thank you for not thinking bad of me for having done the thread in the first place. I felt embarrassed to ask, but my partner said all the "1000 people giving ?2" and convinced me.. lots of lots of people get the 2000 for helmets on gofundme, when you search plagiocephaly there are tons, but i think we will be lucky to get even ?300 as we simply don't have the circle of people, but at least we tried and every penny counts, i am so grateful. We can do the helmet in 4 lots of ?500 (ie ?500 a month), and are looking into getting a loan if we can to try and cover it for now and hopefully pay it back with donations. A big thank you to the mods for not deleting the thread, as my partner put it on a forum he goes on, the one he was sure he could get 1000 people to do ?2 as it's not even a cup of coffee to them so wouldn't be missed etc (his idea), but without even having the decency to message him, the mods just pulled the thread, so he made it again, and now he's had a warning that as it's "not for charity but for personal gain" it is not allowed. "Personal gain"???? That is such an insulting term, it's as if we're scamsters off on holiday It really upset him, and me when he told me. So thank you so much for at least keeping it here, and i've realised we weren't realistic in being able to get even half the amount, but every ilttle bit is a huge help as we are destitute and just want to be able to help him. Obvisouly it doesn't help that my partner feels unable to now ask round his workplace... as he works in Manchester, passing underneath (literally) the bomb site twice a day (as it's the train station) and they all work opposite the station, so as you can imagine everyone there is (rightly) giving to the appeals in Manchester for the bereaved families... and if he asks for us it smacks as bring so insensitive.. so it's going to just be forums and if he joins facebook for plagicephaly groups. We're both really affected by the bomb.. it's such a despicable horrible thing.. but our little boy still needs us to try and do this for him, so thank you again xx (and ps - it's like i said in the other thread, i was worried i'd scared people off... ie this thread had lots of views but only a few replies and i thought people think if they reply i will expect them to donate - but i promise i DONT. I understand and am not expecting anything from anyone, spreading the word, or just words of support were fine by me. Obviously we would like people to donate if they can (!) but i do not expect it from anyone, i was relying on my other half to get people to, but that hasn't exactly worked)

Well, we'll just have to "bump" this thread every once in awhile. Too bad it couldn't be in another area too...say the Rockshow section. Then people would see it.

Post a few times a day if you can. This was a great idea! If anyone bumps the other threads your pic does not show. I hope it all works out for you & your family.
