Liverpool 2003 - King's Dock gig

I can't believe this has turned into a standing vs seating gig debate! There are a lot of seated gigs that can rock and have atmosphere just as well as standing, esp onesin theatres rather than arenas. I dont see the problem with either so calm down people!! i saw Ringo at th eLiverpool empire in 2011 btw and that was seated, and had a great atmosphere. As long as people stand up in the their allocated seat and have a cracking time it's fine by me. I queued from 6am in 2009 in the winter to get a wristband for a Tori Amos concert that evening, then stood all day in the queue to get in, by the time the gig was happening i had such cramp in my legs i felt ill! I feel i'm kind of too old and ill for this stuff now... but if it was my only chance to see Paul, i'd still do it

Just my 2 cents. I have seen just about everyone in my opinion worth seeing in NYC and the surrounding area since the early 70's, a hell of a lot of shows and most have been at seated venues (except for CBGB's and Max's) and as far as I'm concerned that is by far my favorite way to go. Most always stand which I prefer to do but whatever you choose it's your option. Having said that, for me, seats or general admission, doesn't change a great concert either way, I'm there for the hopefully great music!!!

I couldn't get a ticket as they sold out so quickly. A couple of weeks before the show someone at work asked me if I was going, when I told him I wasn't cos I couldn't get a ticket, he told me he had a spare ticket if I wanted it. Game on. Because it was only a couple of weeks to go before the concert getting a hotel in Liverpool was next to impossible but I managed to get a room at the YMCA what a dump that place was, but who cares. On the day of the show I got there early and joined the queue, it was a really hot and sunny day and by the time the doors opened everyone was sunburnt. It must have looked funny to Paul to see all these red faces looking up at him. Lovely way to spend an afternoon sitting on the ground sunbathing and listening to the soundcheak. Once the doors opened a quick dash got me down the front, only one person between me and the stage, centre stage one person between me and Paul. Fabulous gig I got one of those heart signs although I lost it in the cavern club after the gig. All the better because I originally didn't think I'd get to go.
