read La La Land was also inspired by the early 60s French musical "The Young Belles of Rochefort"starring Catherine Deneuve and her sister Francois Dorleac. I think I want to see "Sing" again, it cheered and amused me. Maybe even see "Passengers" again. "Fences" sounds great, hope my man Denzel Washington scores lots of awards nods and the big one, the Oscar for best leading man. Want to see "Manchester by the Sea" and "20thCentury Women" and "Nocturnal Animals" and "Elle" among others

Disney's going to release approx. 18 new movies between 2017 & 18. One of them is a new Toy Story where Woody falls in love with Little Bo Peep!

All I can say is I consider the impending live-action "Beauty and the Beast" an abomination.

Looking forward to seeing LOGAN, Hugh Jackman's last turn as Wolverine, in March.

Just wait until Tim Burton's Dumbo.

the "live" Disney "Beauty and the Beast" an "abomination"? She looks so much like the toon Beauty (Emma does). I was thinking this might be very charming and entertaining. I didn't want to see the live Cinderella movie though. I might have enjoyed that some, too, though.

Hidden Figures was excellent. So sad to see the racial inequality, it made me cry. Glad these women are being posthumously recognized. These women would be heros today. Yet the same mindset persists today with some people, about color and about a woman's capability. Brought to mind Hillary's inability to get elected as a woman, and how blind we still are as a nation. It's not like that in other countries. We need more movies like this. Highly overqualified women still getting the coffee and not the credit.

The United States isn't mature enough for female leaders. Look at countries that have already had female leaders and you'll see people who don't care what gender anyone is, as long as they do the job. In the United States, you still have large groups of people who think women should make sandwiches and babies and leave governing to the grown ups. Then they elect the least grown up men they can find.

You nailed that thought!!! You should make a poster... May I quote you?

We discovered an old movie theater that charges $2 for seniors & $5 everyone else. They are months-years behind with some movies, but we're going to see if there's anything we'd like to see.

The original animated version was perfect. They should leave it the **** alone. Some things don't need to be remade.

Just saw Rogue One. It was enjoyable, yet a bit cookie cutter. Reminded me of Return of the Jedi, very similar effects and characters. Nice to see the token, woman fighter pilot. There are several woman leaders as well. What I'm really enjoying tho, is the strong woman lead, in the Hans Solo Position. Who is going to make the movie about Universal Peace in the future?! Can we never learn? We need more women producers and directors and screenwriters, to change the future. Write a movie portraying a more loving and peaceful future. A world without bigotry and hate, a world where there is no need to fight, all energy, water and food is available to all. No need to fight with your neighboring planets.

My 3 favorite movies of 2016 were Hell or High Water, LaLaLand, and The Edge of Seventeen. Just saw Patriots Day which was amazing. Really enjoyed Manchester By The Sea, but was about 25 minutes too long.

Looking to see a good play sometime this year. We haven't decided on anything yet.

I'm not sure if it fits in a Twitter post. Anything longer and the masses get bored.

Most movies don't need to be remade, rebooted or sequeled. But most studios are huge corporations that care more about profit than quality.

Someday we'll live in a world where people choose love. I'm not trying to quote Ringo, but that might be from one of his songs. But drama needs conflict. A movie about a Utopia where common decency trumps hate wouldn't have all the computer explosions that audiences need.

Too many horror/thriller movies out lately. There should be more rom/com, animation or something lighthearted.

So I'm wondering about the new "Beguiled," which is garnering excellent reviews. Its director Sofia Coppola even won "Best Director" at Cannes! Didn't Clint Eastwood's character suffer his leg being amputated at the end of the original? To punish him, and so he couldn't leave the women there, or something? PLEASE don't tell how the remake ends. Thanks. I plan to see a new comedy "House" starring Amy Poeler and Will Farrell this week. Like Gypsy Girl, I need a laugh or two I want to see the new romantic comedy "The Big Sick" (hate its title, though) that's based on a true love story. Been itching to see some flicks on "the big screen" again. Actual movie theaters. Which is a treat.

On the plane saw Jackie, LA LA Land" Hidden Figures again, plus a part of Beauty and the Beast
