I love Ancient Greece. Architecture, history, philosophy and mythology (in special) "...In the beginning, Hesiod says, there was Chaos, vast and dark. Then appeared Gaea, the dep-breasted earth, and finally Eros, ' the love which softens hearts ', whose fructifying influence would thenceforth preside over the formation of beings an things. From Chaos were born Erebus and Night who, uniting, gave birth in their turn to Ether and Hemera, the day. On her part Gaea first bore Uranus, the sky crowned with stars, ' whom she made her equal in grandeur, so that he entirely covered her '. Then she created the high mountains and Pontus, ' the sterile sea ' with its harmonious waves... " Architecture in ancient Greece was fabulous. I still remember Greek orders: Doric, Ionic, Corinthian. Ionic is my favourite. ωραίος

nope, not yet. In the city of Rhodes there is a 'festival' called Sound & Light (Ήχος και Φως - ichos ke fos). It is a kind of "theatre" without actors, it's sort of like a performing art combined with lights and architecture. I'll make it simple: you are surrounded by trees and you can see the castle, and the 'play' incorporates sounds and lights, and it's like the sounds come from nature... It's actually pretty cool. This is where it is located: http://www.hellenicfestival.gr/site/s&l/images/Rodes_s&l4_big.jpg and from there you see the castle, sort of like this (you are inside, though, you can't see the boats ) http://www.hellenicfestival.gr/site/s&l/images/Rodes_s&l2_big.jpg The play is in various languages and you can find leaflets with the programme and the hours etc, but here it is: (you can tell I've photoshoped the days to write them in English ) It's rather cheap (6 euro I think, and free for children up to 10 years old) so you could visit it one day if you like. I'll see what else I can find and I'll post again.

If you are interested in museums and you are not too bored with them, you can visit the Grand Master's Palace and the museum, in the mediaeval town (if you haven't already) A helpful link for the old town: http://www.rhodes.gr/oldtown.html
