Post Anything You Want Thread!

Matthew_Montoya:
What is it that I TRULY want out of life? I want to reap all of life's benefits. Not necessarily money, career, or anything materialistic like that, but things like inner-peace, being loved, loving someone, knowing who I am, and what I am. Yes, it sounds very clichรฉ, but why not? It's a lifelong journey. I know that on that path to inner-peace, it will be a struggle, I'll experience some trying times, but it will teach me a valuable lesson; who I truly am. Granted, I'm not saying that you need to be tortured to find out who you truly are, but rather, it teaches us about life, and how cruel it can be, and if we take that lesson and apply it to our own lives, we can build upon ourselves, improve who we are as a person, and strengthen ourselves for those more trying times, but, most importantly, increase our inner-knowledge and self-awareness. The thing is, for me anyways, if I can have inner-peace, be loved, love someone, and know who I am, I'd take that any day over the money, career and material things like that. Because, for me, the materialistic things will always be secondary to me. There's just much more important things to life. Money and a career are just something to have. But when it comes to inner-peace, et al., it's something we NEED. Alas, I'd say most people never reach that plateau, because they're too preoccupied in their jobs and money, or too busy in school, or whatever. A great example of that is if you went to other countries in the world, you can find so many poor people (i.e. Hindu's, Buddhist's, what have you) there who always have a smile on their face. They have nothing, make nothing, but they're happy. Now, why? How can those people, who have absolutely nothing, always seem to have a smile on their face? Botox, perhaps? Highly unlikely. You see, I always wonder, if they didn't have that inner-knowledge, self-understanding, and inner-peace, would they still be happy people? Probably not, and they prove that money can buy anything you want, but happiness and those things, and while you sometimes need money to survive, self-awareness, and understanding will ALWAYS be the most valuable thing money can't buy. And it proves why the poor people contribute so much to our society. Knowledge is power, that is true. But let's draw a sharp contrast, shall we? How about the rich people. You can see so many rich people taking home 6-7 figure incomes a year, they have it all, they can go anywhere in the world, and do whatever they want. But why aren't a lot of them happy? I mean, they're making significant money, but why aren't they happy? It's not the lack of money, obviously, because they have financial freedom, but there's just that invisible wall that prevents some of them from achieving that inner-happiness and eternal freedom. And those eternally satisfied poor people have that one thing they long for: eternal happiness, and self-understanding and inner-peace. But the rich people have something the eternally satisfied people could use: financial freedom. Now, notice how I didn?t say that the eternally satisfied poor people needed it, because, honestly, they don?t. Money or not, they?re still happy. You?ll still see that smile on their face, and, some don?t even want it. I mean, if you?re happy without it, why do you need it? Why don?t they want it? I think that people who aren?t exposed to materialism, like countries such as Honduras, etc., actually find inner-peace and happiness much more easily, because they haven?t been exposed to the materialistic world, and in a Western world dominated by materialism, our children our raised like that, because they either want this CD or that CD, the new clothes, etc., so they build materialistic dreams, because they can think happiness comes from money. But does it really? So, really, one could say all life boils down to is financial freedom vs. eternal freedom; money and happiness. Which do you value more? Which would you rather have? So, I submit to everyone, are you eternally satisfied in your life? Are you TRULY happy? Have these years been worth it for you? If not, how do you plan to make the coming years ahead worth it? What do you want out of this? Why do you want it? How do you plan to get it? When do you plan to get it? Will it ENTERALLY satisfy you? Will it improve who you are as a person? Will it build that self-knowledge and self-awareness? Will you finally achieve that inner-peace with this thing you might so badly need? You?re the only one who can answer that question. Life is what you make of it. So, do you want to make it a world of financial freedom or eternal freedom? How can you achieve one of the two? Honestly, only you know the answer. I can?t help you there, but I can leave you with a quote from the great George Harrison, and that is, ?If you don?t know where you?re going, Any Road will take you there.? Smart man, was Sir George, who was also a prime example of how money wasn?t everything to him. And as I said earlier, knowledge is power, and one of the main ways to tap into that power is to know who and what you are; that?s always a great start. And I think that if more people try to achieve just that, the world could possibly just be a better place. Now, if you haven?t noticed already by this crap post, I?ve developed a heavily philosophical mood this morning, as I type this at 1:30 A.M., so I will now retire into my bedroom, where, as I?m still in this mood, ponder more interesting thoughts. Goodnight!
Snapped out of the philosophical mood this morning.

Too bad. That's the most sense you've ever made.

Oh, you were able to comprehend it, were you?
-
Yeah, and now my mother loves you. . . or rather whatever made me clean out the basement. . . I was really tired today, so I was open to suggestion. Maybe for the better. . . I scared the hell out of my English teacher when I brought his recycling bin back from cleaning out my locker though. Happy is a strange word. . .

Yeah, and now my mother loves you. . .
Why does she love me?
-
As I said. . . she loves the force that put the idea of cleaning out all the stuff that I keep because I remember having. In some strangly connected way, that's you.

Somehow in my mind, reading that post about simplifing, made me realize that keeping stuff that I have because I remember having it isn't a good enough reason! So I went throught the house and got rid of all my junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE"S A F*CKING CLEAN FREAK! in a round about way, you made her year! (and no, she doesn't love you directly, because to tel her that it was some guy on the internet's idea would land me in sh*t, not to mention, I would never be able to speak to you again, because she would like you!).

Oo, I just might not send it, if that's the case. Seriously, log on to Yahoo! and abide by the agreement, and then I'll send the photo.
