Paul, Come To Australia
-
What a croc... This man OWES the Aussie fans...and BIG TIME!!! GET ON THE RIGHT THING...Paul!!! Remember in 93, he broke the world record with ticket sales in the Sydney area...yes, THE WORLD RECORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Paul "needs a reason" what about the cancellation of the 02 concerts??? Err...I'd call that a valid reason... We're getting dicked by the Big Mac.

Maybe cause he doesn't sell a lot in Australia... "Memory Almost Full" best charted position: #33 "Chaos & Creation": #34 Who Knows...
That doesn't mean the fans aren't there, though. That'd be a silly reason to not tour.
I'm not telling this is THE reason, i'm just trying to find one. If his 2 last albums were number 1 in Aussie, do you think he wouldn't tour over there? It's a magical mystery no tour !

If you went on Paul's current sales of his albums across the globe,he would not tour anywhere.Generally, his selling power has fallen away in the last 25 years. The corralation between sales and touring, is not really representative of a artists ticket selling power. The sad fact is most go to see Paul as a Beatle, not as a solo act.
I totally agree with your comment. I think Paul tours for the love of it. I think he will tour here but I think he will have just the one concert, and I'm prepared to go anywhere within Australia to see him. I know alot of Beatle fans both young and old who would pay to see him because of his Beatle music. And I would say he would make more money from the sale of Beatle cd's than his solo ones. So Paul please come to Australia
-
I agree completely, Cassandra. I don't see him doing an actual tour of Australia itself, just one gig maybe in Sydney or Melbourne before he goes off to another country. Which is better than nothing, you have to admit!
-
I respectfully disagree. I think WHEN he comes...he will tour the country. I believed all along, a tour here hinges on a Japanese tour...in fact wouldn't surprise if he began a world tour here or in this region again... But it's all the question of WHEN??? I won't even entertain the notion of "if"... Looking at the venues of these one-off shows, they certainly are in odd places (ie) not places that are usually on a normal touring schedule, so perhaps his reasoning is to give as many people who want to, the opportunity of seeing him now before he sets off on a tour of the more predictable cities ? Anyway - just my thoughts...

That was exactly the plan in 02...and that fell flat on its face.

I think if Paul is to tour Oz he should do a extensive one. After the '02 abort, which i thought was a error on his part,he should give the aussie fans a proper tour,as a apology for the '02 cancellation.Living here in England,i thought the reason for the cancellation of the last Australian tour was a poor one,i think after the atrocity, the aussies needed a positive and uplifting event, not unlike post 9/11,and a Paul tour would have fitted the bill. You can't let the criminals win.Paul's tour was a cathartic experience for the US after 9/11,and a positive thing overall.

Yes ~ Paul needs to go to Australia. I'd rather see him go there before he comes to the states. Or at least have a tour scheduled for the Australians.

Well, we don't know, everything's up in the air at the moment. Who knows what will happen? However, I do agree with the Japan notion - we definitely hinge on whether he tours that area or not. It would be very nice indeed if he started his tour here, though!

Hey guys, just dropping in to say hello! I'm getting my Stevie Wonder pre-sale tomorrow! I think the fact that him, and Billy Joel are both playing at the Entertainment Centre in Brisbane indicates that Paul will probably play there too when he does come.
-
I think you're right, Charlie! Although the entertainment centre is closer to me, I secretly hope that he'll play Suncorp or maybe the convention centre; just 'cause it looks more classy! I'd hate to imagine him getting out to the Entertainment Centre only to find a giant, ugly concrete building surrounded by bush! That thing is such an eyesore!
-
I do hope you are right CharlieD,as i posted yesterday, i think Australia deserve Paul to tour OZ properly, with no Beatles songs in the setlist .Just pulling your leg. Stevie Wonder is touring here in the UK soon, but time and money are at a premium. I did get to see Crowded House on the 10th July in a little woodland forest area, and they were great. The crowd on the other hand, were talking and shuffling about far too much, which as you can imagine, was very annoying. Having seen Paul outside in Lisbon in 2004,where the crowd were brilliant, it was very frustrating that a audience were so restless and rude.

This comment from Paul from the Le Soleil paper in Canada... When asked about plans for concerts after Quebec, Paul said... "I don't know what's next, really. There may be a North American Tour next year...that's being talked about." :
-
I got my Stevie Wonder ticket! It's not the best seat... it's in the top left-hand seating, but hopefully it won't be in a place where I can't see anything. It'd better be good considering I spent $140 on it. It is a pretty bad setup, I think. The very top section around the sides is "GOLD" seating and not "SILVER" which is bad because some people (scratch that, MOST people) in the SILVER seats will have a better view than I probably will in the GOLD seat. Oh well. As long as I can see mr. Wonder and hear Sir Duke, I'll be happy!

I'd love to see him playing the river stage. I saw Archie Roach there a few weeks ago, it was amazing, laid back, really beautiful weather.
-
I can't believe he turned down Sydney if that is indeed true. Geez it's hard to keep the faith about this sometimes. At leasy Billy Joel is coming back. What a suprise that was!! Sitting on the floor at the Melbourne first show Hope you guys are well

Here I go again - Please Come To Australia Paul.
-
Australia is dying for someone like Paul to come and conquer. I am tired of inferior acts coming here and being lauded as rock heroes whilst the common person's perception of McCartney will continue to read, former beatle, can''t remember the last thing he did. Lack of promotion and touring will do that, to even the biggest names. I'd love to see all the upbeat numbers from Memory Almost Full played along with all the classics. Come on Paul!

Did anyone hear Roy and HG talking about the Olympics closing today? They speculated that they'll have a representative from the next country having the Olympics perform to close the ceremony - and they said it would be Paul McCartney doing a 45 minute version of "Hey Jude". Best thing ever.

Did everyone see the great news today? Neil Young is coming in January ! He is headlining Big Day Out and doing a three-city tour with My Morning Jacket.
