i freaked out over the shocking 'pre-emptive strike' which seemed so brutal and uncivilized and horrific and couldnt sleep that first night when all the bombs fell on the people in Iraq who were innocent civilians. will never get over that 'pre-emptive strike' policy business. remember the riots against it held by millions world wide begging bush not to do it and it all fell on deaf ears, the bush admin. was chomping at the bit to make war, so eager. on a big death trip. those actions caused thousands more mid easterners to become fanatic terrorists making plans to get us.
Are you f**king deaf? George W. Bush has nothing to do with the 2008 Presidential Election. Geez, even when your candidate WINS, the bitching doesn't stop... :
HA HA HA!

Even though things didn't turn out as I had wished.....I am still a proud American and will back President Obama. I truly hope he can be the type of president alot of people think he will be....but somehow I just don't think so.....I just can't trust or believe anything about him.....but I would love it if he proves me wrong....we will see! I have been known for my good instinct though....

Well American send a clear message. Bush your fired!
Hi... you must be new to the country. You see, after a President finishes two terms, he cannot run again. Therefore, even if John McCain wins, Bush will no longer be President as of January 20th, 2009. Therefore, Bush can't be "fired." Here's the U.S. Constitution: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.overview.html Read it, sometime...
HE HE HE! FUNNY BONE! Re-educate us more often!

Certainly. But I think you summed it up. I am far from happy at this election. I feel that the U.S. has just elected the first Marxist President in its history and Barack Obama is my least favorite U.S. politician that I can remember. From both a political and personal standpoint, I can't stand him and, as you said, I don't trust him. At all. But as of January 20th, 2009, he will be my President and, for that, I pray to God that he has the foresight and wisdom to make the U.S. a better place (something which I heard very few Democrats say after the 2004 Election, by the way). I hope that he can improve America; not fundamentally change it, for I and millions of other Americans love America as it fundamentally is, and has been. There are areas that need to be fixed, of course, but it should be just that; fixed. I hope that our country can move in a better direction and if it's under the direction of President-elect Obama, then so it is. Having said that, I have little hope that will happen under his leadership and I do fear for the direction of our country. Greatly. But the U.S. is strong enough to overcome such a thing. However, I hope for the best. We shall see...

YAY! McCain was very dignified about the whole thing. Props to him where they are due.
Starshine, thank you. Your words about John McCain are also very dignified. I wish Washington had more people like you.
Yes, McCain's words were moving. I almost feel sorry for him seeing as how this really was not his race. Simply the wrong time. ...but.... I'm very happy!

Congrats to all Obama supporters A hard won campaign! I hope he lives up to your expectations. Once again, congratulations

Congratulations America! We're proud of you!

I'm happy I don't have to leave the country I couldn't have taken four more years. As long as McCain followed the republican failed philosopy he would have been a disaster. He was gracious in his consession speech, it was the best speech I have heard him give.

Oh please....you would have left the country? Let's not get overly dramatic.....and as for his best speech ever, it was gracious and classy but that's the type of man he is.....you just haven't been listening.

I know how many terms a president can run. It applys to governor too like Bloomberg of NY who running for a 3rd term. Bush could'nt get elected dog catcher but if he could, he would run his stepford wife or his dog if he thought he keep his power. If you didn't get the message. He and his policy is over and any Bush want to be's too. Bush his kids and his kids kids. A political Dynasty is over. Maybe you McCain supporters didn't see what the other 2/3rds saw. We don't want 4 more years of Bush Policy and we not taking any chances.

And, as before, I've yet to hear what policies these are or what "Bush Policy" is. It's a clever tactic I've heard to try to discredit McCain by showing who also supports the policies: it doesn't refute the alleged ineffectiveness of the policies themselves. Saying Bush supports policies does nothing to explain WHY the policies are wrong. But, again, it's irrelevant, now.

Many people have been thinking of leaving if McCain had been elected. I hope Obama can work us out of this ditch. I am hopeful he can. You all don't seem to realize what a mess our country has been in...until tonight. The whole world knows how weak we have become if you don't you are in la la land

What a wonderful day I have been accused many times of being anti american on this board......i certainly dont feel anti American today The truth is i never was ( i am not anti anybody) i am anti bush, anti bLair (does that make me anti British ?), anti illegal wars and lies. The US under bush is the most hated nation in the world ( with the UK 2nd) This result could change all that. I say could, because its not something Barack can do on his own, he needs the support of the whole nation. I have not read all the recent posts on here but the bitterness borders on the hysterical ( plus one person who i have got very wrong) Sen Mccain was most gracious , and genuine in his praise of Barack unlike the amoeba in the crowd. Good luck Barack and the world...and thank you America. Great tune....great man

bugger another right wing President. Here it is Guy Fawkes Day where is the bugger when you need him.

And the day we decide our policies based on what the entire world thinks is when I will shudder.
