Not as successful as Eisenhower's or Kennedy's, a repubican and a democrat As Sebellius is not quite secretary of HHS, I am wondering how the detection of swine flu now in Kansas and New York will reflect...hmmmm...just a thought

(1) updated 48 minutes ago 4-26-2009 U.S. declares public health emergency as swine flu spreads The declaration was made by: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano (which might be a bit ironic). http://www.cnn.com/2009/HEALTH/04/26/swine.flu/index.html Janet might prove to be "a virus" of sorts to the President (2) JFK was photographed throwing a football outside on the Whitehouse lawn - Obama's only photo was throwing one (or acting like) was within the Oval Office (I believe as issued in Time magazine 100 day celebration issue)

I saw the press conference today. Janet and the CDC director seem to have their act together, though as more cases are discovered (Canada, New Zealand) it is curious that Mexico City would be so hard hit...20 confirmed deaths with 81 a possibility. It remains to be seen how it plays out here in the states. You can be sure that if deaths start occuring, all bets are off. I seem to remember a swine flu outbreak in the 1970s? I believe Kennedy was 81-82%, Eisenhower 76-77% for approval ratings.....provides some perspective wouldn't you say??

As this is not politics and there's no threads about it... Yes, the flu thing seems serious. Mexico, USA, New Zealand, Spain, Israel and others. Some infections here in Barcelona by people flying back from Mexico.

You almost got away with it - today 4/26/2009 is day 97 of the Obama Adminstration. Day 100 is not until Wednesday 29, 2009. All best are off regarding the official approval numbers until then (and approximately 1 week afterward in order to accurately tabulate all the polls). btw - in the deck of cards is a "very weak" USA market according to some talking heads. What the Obama & his Admin. have done and/or have not done, has only contributed to a false stock(suckers) market rally without the fundamentals for a true rally. The state of the economy should indeed be considered. When & how the market reacts through the closing this Wednesday will surely add to the Presidents approval rating.

Glad to hear you are better! I never knew you were ill!

I only get ill when I go to Hawaii on my much anticipated sunny vacation... its a tradition. Go to the sun and get really sick. Whooping cough is no fun. Highly contagious.. My daughters girlfriend has it too so I filled my prescription since she doesn't have health care and gave it to her. Cleaned her right up.

Well, as usual with bad news, media is doing a stretch on the Mexico flu thing. Here, there seems to be 10 infected people. "All of them have improved". you don't improve in 24 hours not even of an ordinary flu.... So nothing serious here...
-
We are concern about the swine flu, schools will be till next May 6th, a person died because she was visiting Mexico City on Easter and 10 people have the virus in the state of Nuevo Leon...

This was probably Obama's idea of a practical joke>>>> http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30435336/?GT1=43001

Let's see Photo-op Air Force One NYC White House President Obama A 'Classified' Photo Op Turns Into a Soaring Blunder for the White House Mission to Get Beauty Shots of Presidential Jet at Statue of Liberty Panics 9/11-Wary New York April 27, 2009 By SUZANNE SATALINE, JONATHAN D. ROCKOFF & CHRISTOPHER CONKEY As secret missions go, this one was a flop. On Monday morning, one of the 747s used to ferry around the president of the U.S. was dispatched to the Statue of Liberty, escorted by fighter jets. Assignment: Get some fresh glamour shots of the plane. The Air Force said the flight needed to remain confidential. So while New York police knew about it, as did at least one person in the mayor's office, regular New Yorkers remained in the dark. PANIC http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090427/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_low_flying_plane_purpose Raw: Startled New Yorkers Run Through Streets as Obama Plane Photo Op Goes Awry http://www.breitbart.tv/html/327763.html And this marks the close of day 98 when Obama's White House scares the s**t out of many thousands of New Yorkers & Jersey City folk all for a photo-op!

Ten infected people can mean 1,000 may be carrying the virus at this moment which could mean 10,000 in another few weeks. You're in Europe, hopefully you'll be spared from the worst of it. But no matter what you can't blame the media for stretching this story. Anything in North America can spread to Europe real fast these days.

Hi Rocio, I hope all goes well at home. And I hope they keep the schools closed as long as necessary. Something this bad happens once in a generation. Good luck and hang in there.

Barack Obama is the dumbest piece of shit to ever become president. This guy and his entire administration are so fucken stupid. Flying a low altitude 747 over lower Manhattan with 2 jet fighters escorting it for a "photo op" has to be the dumbest move by a president in over 200 years. Did you hear the people in Battery Park screaming while they were running? What if someone had a heart attack and died while they were running? What would that imbecile occupying the White House say? Oh, but we had to take pictures so I could show off. What a dickhead. While this is happening Moron Obama is reading another speech someone wrote for him and his teleprompter died. He stood there like a deer in the headlights. he was stuttering and stammering while the AUDIENCE LAUGHED AT HIM. I wonder how much fuel the Air Force One plane and the two fighter jets burned up so they could take pictures? Where are the envio kooks now? This guy is a total moron. On Earth Day he flew over 900 miles on Air Force One to read a short speech his staff wrote about energy conservation. I read that over 9,000 gallons of fuel, at minimum were used. That's not counting Marine One or his limo and the dozens of vehicles in his entourage. When he flies it require two 747's and at least two fighter jets. I can't remember anything by a president that's as dumb as this idiotic move. Now I know why he will not allow his transcripts to be released from Columbia and Harvard.
