I think this is Supernova-like, so here it is... Audi and Oliver-Rock and Roll (Led Zeppelin's song) Audi: plays every instrument me: crazy vocals somehow inspired in a live version mixed with the original one
Very Good! Love this Oliver! Thanks

thank you very much

Have a look at my newest video
it`s no acting, me looking so hungover, I was partying the whole night before we did that footage (and so were the others too, we all look like a bunch of homeless and confused alcoholics I know ).... -
i don't like that song much, on first hearing it just kind of plods along stiffly with not enough variation in the tune, not enough of a melody. (i didn't listen to the whole thing though, only to two minutes 50 seconds in. perhaps it changes and gets more tuneful and lively?) plus the language you're singing in makes the song sound all the more plodding like a mournful dirge, it's not sung in a beautiful sounding language like italian, french or spanish, but you can't help that. i've heard a much more exciting up tempo, up beat rock song from your band before that you posted which i liked a lot. maybe i'll get into this more if i hear it several more times. this was just my first impression.

you`re right; it`s just these 4 chords all through till the end... only at the end it changes, it gets faster and wilder. anyway the upbeat rock song you are refering to was just a joke; it wasn`t meant to be taken serious. But this one is, so that`s why it is harder to get into it... Its heavier and darker, and it`s more of a typical nino-song. Songs like that are the backbone of our success and the silly ones are just for fun

Went to the first heat of the county-wide "Battle of the Bands" contest last night. The winner will get to perform at a music festival in the summer. It was good overall, although one band I thought was pretty much crap advanced, alongside one very tight band. There is a judging panel as well as public vote the latter of which counts as 20% of the total. Several musicians I know are entering the contest, one of my friends is performing in the next heat next Thursday so will try and go to support him. Luckily it's Bank Holiday the next day, so I can sleep in. In other news, I have got a new job! Exactly what I would like to do with possibilities to develop in the field. So I'm pleased. How is everyone? Have a good weekend.

Hey, congratulations for the job. Well, the musical contests are very tricky, you never know who's going to win... The Beatles never won one... though they came 2nd once. And Elvis never won any except some when he was a boy. Maybe it was lack of experience over a stage or maybe lack of good judges....

Thanks. Starting job on Monday. I forgot- were you also looking for a job or did you find one? Yeah guess you never know with those contests. It was fun though. The next heat should be good. Hope "my guy" makes it through.

I am quite hopelessly searching for a job. Yeah, in Spain the unemployement rate of people of my age is 50% or so... Sometimes you work, sometimes not... the biggest problem of all is that is you can't make long term plans. No matter the job you find, is not supposed to last long. Sort of that Robbie Williams song "before I falling love I'm preparing to leave her..." Well, but in between the work... I still got the music. There should be lots of emerging artists in Spain, with so many young people with so many leisure time... the bohemians... milions of bohemians here :

Keep it up, hope you find something soon. So most jobs in Spain are temporary only are they? I think we discussed this subject here before.. I used to go from temporary jobs to the next, it is only now I see - for the first time- some kind of direction and possibilities to develop in one field. Will be working as a CTA (Clinical Trials Associate/Assistant) for a Clinical Research Organisation, after 18 months in a temporary job at a similar company. It is my first 'proper' permanent job. Here too it's been hard with the economy, so I can't complain. (except about the commuting maybe.. but I won't. I'm used to the early mornings now).

well, 18 months sounds here like a stable, not a temporary job... here temporary jobs last a couple of months, weeks, or even days... There are here 2 kinds of generation of workers. The older people have been working for years in the same job, if their boss wants to fire them he would have to pay them lots of money as a penalty. The younger ones are fired with very little penalty, so they are the ones fired time and again... The penalty for "inappropiate firing" is proportional to the time the worker has been in the company... so it has generated a huge gap between 2 kind of workers... The "impossible to fire" (sometimes the company prefers to pay them even if they don't go to work...) and the ones that no-one wants to become... "impossible to fire"... quite disgusting.

well, sometimes it seems that it's easier here to get a stable job in show-business than in business. I use to say that ordinary jobs here have become like show-business jobs... They're unpredictable, they can last 2 weeks or anything, you'll never know... one day you're in the top and the next day you're nothing... There are several interviews to get a job. 400 people is the average number of "contestants" for a job, just like castings. : oh, my, let's go on with the show!
PS The Beatles played this one (Well, Paul sang it...) in a performance where only 4 people came to watch them.... I guess that's the positive-McCartney spirit -
I just returned from our tour (austria, germany, switzerland/liechtenstein)... it was mad. 5 days party haha... now i have to come down; here`s a nice video friom the tour; at the end it gets funny when the special guest star (one of austrias most popular rappers) appears... we all had a splendid time

hey, it's must be cold there to sing with a coat like that.... I love duets, that's almost an "impossible one", fantastic
-
oh it was very hot, but well you know, popstars sometimes have to dress inapropriate to look like popstars ; here`s a funny picture from the same concert

I know, I would never call Nino a "pop star", but something else, you know, singer/songwriter, independent, whatever... Artists can dress just like they will. It reminds me, for instance, of Spandau Ballet in Live Aid with all those coats in June... sweating like hell
-
wow silver moondog, your band must be a pretty big deal over there in northern europe. cool

Hey Audi, yesterday I saw on youtube one of those silly discussions "my fav singer had greater range than yours", etc Often Elvis range is described as "2 octaves", and that's a normal range, I don't think a singer like Elvis could have that range really, only he rarely used the lowest register. I think he really had 3 octaves and half, kind of like Paul, Freddie, Lennon, etc... so, what's the lowest note you remind from Elvis? I guess it can be confused with JD Summers...
