When Paul boldly opened with Figure Of Eight....

...I think that guy might be planning a comeback.
-
that was a great show, and a great song
-
A new song, not one more than 30 years old! Yes, I agree.

Which date was your show Jez.?That tour was my second Paul gig after the Wings '79 tour,January 14th 1990 if my memory serves me well.I had a rather enthusiastic female Japanese fan next to me,but it was great to see her love for the show,it was infectious rather than annoying.

Hi Boycie, just missed you at Wembley then! We went on January 13th, the night before. I remember that because two songs from that night appeared on Tripping the Live Fantastic (Fool on the Hill & Twenty Flight Rock) - nice souvenir of the evening.

cant remember the date without refering to my ticket but i was at the first night at wembley that tour.my first macca gig.! me and my friend were a bit over excited and we kept screaming for 'linda' and 'cook of the house' inbetween songs..im sure macca responded to us and said 'ive got my family in tonight' although maybe he was actually being serious and he did.!we thought so anyway\!

Hey that's great Runcible Tune! If you find the You Tube links for that footage, please post it on here won't you. I'd really love to see it. Thanks.

first night Wembley was the 11th, I think. There were what, 12 shows during that stand? I went to them all. Unbelievably special, those nights were.

And we all got a free gift

I'd love for him to open with a new track...as long as its a good rocker akin to Figure of Eight. i mean, in Liverpool in 2008 he opened with Hippy Hippy Shake, now i'd never really heard that song therefore it was new to meee, but i loved it just as much as if he'd have opened with any of his older songs! SO i'm all for it! Josh
-
I'm all for it too, but I'll be very happy with Venus & Mars/Rock Show this summer! It's the opener we all wanted - and given Paul hasn't got a new album to promote, the closest we'll get to a "new" opener, I think.

That first photo of Paul is great! WHAT model of 5 string Rickenbacker is he holding???
-
I saw Paul in 89 and going into the concert I actually knew surprisingly little about his music, but had heard Flowers and loved Figure of 8. when he opened with it, that was like a magic moment for me. the whole McCartney thing crystalized for me like, wow this guys a bad ass.

That is precisely my point.

I believe it is an altered Blackstar given the black fretboard. The blackstar, normally a 4 string though some 5 string versions were made had black hardware. The fretboard is the give away!
