how is paid the bet for Uruguay 0- Mexico 0? ... and if Uruguay and Mexico draw, France (and South Africa) will be out. So there's a high chance of a "deliberate draw" in the Uruguay-Mexico match, an upseting for France and of course for South Africa, I don't think people there will react well to a deliberate draw that leaves South Africa out...
Uruguay and Mexico 0-0 could happen. Or even 1-1 to make it look more legitimate. But remember that the team that finishes second in group A will play Argentina in the second round. At the moment that would be Mexico, but if they beat Uruguay they would avoid Argentina and play a weaker team (Korea Republic, Greece or Nigeria). So Mexico has motivation to win against Uruguay. Uruguay would love to play a 0-0. Mexico would prefer to win.
the thing is a deliberate draw would place South Africa out of his own World Cup, I don't think FIFA will like that at all, I hope they play to win Portugal 7-North Korea (worst team I've even seen on a World Cup) 0 Chile 1-Switzerland 0 the 7 goals,
I like the last goal, Cristiano Ronaldo controlling the ball with the back of the neck lol -
Spain changed their attitude yesterday Spain 2 - Honduras 0 Now that was attack, lots of players in the Honduras area, even with the 2-0 and even some moments of magical colective play like in the Euro Cup. The bad news is that they still play with 2 defensive midfielders , and as you know that's not the best way to play in a pass-around way (the way Spain is meant to play if they want to win). It was good enough for winning Honduras, and I guess to win Chile. But it won't be good enough to win the best teams... Well, they've changed the attitude, so they're halfway there. people likes to make promises like "if our team wins the World Cup I...." if Spain wins the World Cup I'll record a whole version of We Are The Champions and post it here

This is old news, but I just found out, so it's NEWS to me! Javier "El Chicharito" Hernandez is going to be playing for a British team called "Manchester United". Apparently, it's a big thing. The whole transaction cost £10 million British pounds!
Yay!yes, it's a big thing but would you believe some Spanish team signed past year a player called Cristiano Ronaldo paying 80 milion pounds?. And if someone wanted to sign a player from Argentina called Lionel Messi (kind of the Michael Jordan of this game) they'd have to offer 140 million pounds, and I'm not sure his team would sell him.

well "our world cup" goes like this after round 2 1 me 172 (106 this round, personal record) 2 daniel 151 (84 this round) 3 unclesox 140 (83 this round)

yes, that's kind of what happens when your team loses all chances... No "deliberate" anything, Uruguay wins Mexico, though Mexico still qualifies. It was rumoured that certain France players would refuse to play... I guess one of them is Evra, and Abidal and Toulalan... France 1-South Africa 2 So France ends his horrible world cup... anyway, btw, maybe they should not be here cause they're here because that goal with a Henry's hand... BTW, referee didn't see yesterday 2 penalties (again) that would have favoured Spain. Man, I didn't want to about the referees when Spain lost (it would have seemed like the loser's whining)... But every match virtually a penalty or more are not given... lots of cards not shown... like Kaka out because of almost nothing after receiving all kinds of kicks... if referees go on like that, anything can happen... "football is not basketball" and not karate either

The United States beat Algeria 1 to 0 Yay! The goal was scored at the very end of the game. (During the extra 4 minutes that were added at the end of the game! )

the champion and the 2nd of the last world cup out (this hever happened before) England qualified in a very "Italian" way. Spain today's going to play with Busquets, Xabi Alonso, Torres, Villa, Xavi and Iniesta. I don't have a clue of how they're gonna place themselves in the field... I guess a 4-2-3-1 With Villa as left wing and Iniesta as right wing... I don't like that... well... the thing I like the most is that no-one of Spain was happy with the match against Honduras. In the past that game would have caused joy, but as now the goal is not reaching quarterfinals but winning the World Cup, the coach, the ex-coach, the players, the journalists and the people say that playing is not gonna be enough. C'mon, if Del Bosque could choose between all the players in the world for choosing an XI he would change Ramos for Maicon, Messi for someone, and Cristiano for other... so well, it's only Spain against Spain. Blatter says "At the game Bill Clinton told me ?football connects people?, I couldn't agree more, it's what the World Cup's about" that's it. And as Freddie Mercury said... "rock and roll concerts are like football matches, only we are all in the same team and we never lose"

That game proved to me that the referees suck - the USA scored more goals than just one

the referees suck, for sure, but what can we do? It's a FIFA tournament, so they're free to choose any referees... It's a bit like complaining about American Idol casting... it's a Simon's business.... And FIFA seems to be running the thing in a way it's still interesting and profitable, so well.... lots of people say that if referees would be more correct then not many people will like football...

I was listening to the Brazil/Portugal game and the commentators were all stating that the refs were out of control. They were either over-officiating (I think they said in the first half there were something like 7 yellow cards) or not officiating at all. If you're going to ref a game, at least be consistent.

Yes, that's kind of what happens... lots of penalties not given, lots of cards not shown... Maradona's Hand of God constant revival... huge "inconsistency" (or whatever the word :lol like in Kaka's red card... and everyone knows it, it seems... players or coaches don't complain
-
They may not officially complain but I have heard some of the english speaking coaches and some players voicing their complaints in interviews.

Standings on the Macca Board Fantasy Football World Cup after round 3 1 me 259 2 daniel 235 3 unclesox 223 we all scored similar this round. this time it's gonna be tough cause we're all already in the top quarter of the teams rankings... YES! and I liked Spain sometimes! Chile seemed to want to "impersonate" Spain... passing the ball a lot and attacking with many till Spain did 2 counterattacks and that was all really What I liked the most is that they got rid of the 2 defensive midfielders thing as the match advanced... even more with Fabregas on field. If they get rid of it all I'll start to practice We Are The Champions. What a team, Torres not playing much, Fabregas as substitute and Raul at home. And it makes sense... Iniesta (a hometown fellow of mine, and "local celebrity") was superb yesterday, even agressive sometimes. I think he's going to want to mark Cristiano Ronaldo himself. http://d.yimg.com/a/p/ap/20100625/capt.894707fb56c8475aae8ae0225deeba18-894707fb56c8475aae8ae0225deeba18-0.jpg
