Heather ... from Driving Rain

Don't you agree that this tune is so wonderful and strong?
the tune is unforgettable...romantic and rocking ...
the name of the song is not important ... or we can consider it after his daughter....after all Paul composed the track before thinking of a name to it...
This is one of the gems that was in the underrated album "Driving Rain"
I am sure this tune will be immortalized...
one of the best of all tunes in this decade . -
It is a nice tune off of an underrated album. Not sure why this record gets slammed so much by people.

Because the subject of the song is HM I would guess.

The album in my opinion is way too long at its 67 minutes playing time and containing 16 (officially 15) tracks is far too many songs to digest at a single sitting. Slimmed down to around 40 minutes and losing half a dozen tracks or so would have helped the album receive a more positive reception.
Much as I like 'From A Lover To A Friend' as a song / recording, I don't think it was a good choice as a lead single. I think there could have been better choices. Also the unattractive album cover, having the dreadful 'Freedom' single included and the album coming out in the post 9/11 gloom didn't help either.

one of the best of all tunes in this decade .Love the guitar oriented album "Driving Rain" especially songs like "Lonely Road" and "About You". I like "Heather" but it does not sound "finished" to me for some reason. It seems to be like something they would play in a soundcheck.

I always loved Driving Rain. It was the start of a great run of albums up to and including New. Heather is a strong track with in hindsight an unfortunate title.

Heather is beautiful.
The song, that is.
