Ugh, don't remind me.

Great photos, Oobu!
I think this one may have been taken the same day... Caption says "February 1984, Swiss side of the French Alps". I remember seeing him wearing that winter hat before too, at another time in another photo.

^ That is probably one of the last pics of John and Cynthia together in public (except in India)
Also, note the tie Paul is wearing- looks like the same one he wore to the church blessing on his wedding day in 1969. (This pic was taken before they recorded Hey Bulldog and before they went to India)
Always felt sad for Cynthia at that time, since she no doubt knew John was involved with Yoko. Must have been rough to get through. Jane probably knew it was only a matter of time for her and Paul, too, but they both tried to hang in there and make it work a while longer. When you're with someone for a long time, it would be difficult to make that final break, even though that may be the best decision for both people involved.
Yes, the tie Paul is wearing does look like the same one he wore on his wedding day. It was probably "his best tie" that he saved for special occasions, when he wanted to look extra dashing and dapper!
Cynthia probably knew about Yoko, or suspected, but in Jan. 1968, Paul and Jane had just gotten engaged Christmas Day 1967. He hadn’t gotten involved with Francie Schwartz yet either. (Yes, he had met Linda in May 1967, but they had had no contact since then)
Paul said in an interview once (will have to find where, perhaps in Wingspan) that after he met Linda for the first time, she was always in the back of his mind, and he knew he'd see her again sometime. They definitely were soulmates for her to have made that kind of impression on him. But he probably felt obligated to honor his commitment to Jane at that time, which is understandable, and things worked out eventually the way they were meant to.
Oh, yeah, you’re definitely right - he told Linda later that he fell in love with her at the Bag ‘O Nails! (She scoffed at that) But why didn’t he get her phone number then? He might have thought because she lived in NYC, it would never work out and that she wouldn’t uproot herself and her daughter to move to London. Hello? Are you crazy? You are Paul F-ing McCartney!
Scroll up t read my edited comment about Jane's engagement ring from Paul, lol.
I think in 1967-1968 it was much more difficult to have long distance relationships. There was the telephone of course, but that was expensive to make overseas long-distance calls, and it wasn't as easy then to travel and uproot yourself and schedule time to meet up with someone at a far distance for a few days. Today is so much easier because you have the internet, email, and skype to stay in contact, and even airline travel is easier so meeting up in central locations isn't that difficult. Eventually you do both have to be in the same location for the relationship to work, though. Eventually Linda moved to London which was the best choice she made for their relationship. As far as this day and age, I know of many couples who have met online, got to know each other, agreed to meet, and eventually got together and moved to the same place, and seem very happy.
I don’t see where you commented about the ring. What day?
Yesterday afternoon... But with all the quotes and posts above, it's easier for me to just copy and paste it here rather than show you where it is, lol (see below)

Edited to add: Yes, I noticed Jane's engagement ring in the first photo. Very tasteful and elegant, but understated and simple at the same time... I like it! To me anything over $2500 would be way too extravagant for me, lol. If I fell in love with a struggling musician or a man who owns a newspaper stand, and he couldn't afford a a fancy ring, I'd be happy to just wear a cigar band until we could afford something better, lol... I guess that's really love! lol
Thanks! I see where it is now, but I swear I looked 3 times and that paragraph was not there last night! Weird!

I understand. Things have a way of getting moved around and relocated, especially in quotes. Rather than hit the quote button, I find it's easier sometimes to just copy what I want to quote, and paste it in a new post... it feels overwhelming to have to look up at a long list of quotes and figure out what the last person said! lol

Love that photo of Paul laughing and holding his guitar. Some of the best photos of him are when he's having fun and playing his music, and doing what he loves best!
Really like this photo too (taken in 1991) and have always like his hair like that, where it's a little longer at back behind the ears, kind of like how he's wearing it now. So handsome!

*Thud* Another swoonworthy and gorgeous photo! Thanks, Nancy!
Looks like it was taken around the same time as this one. (Grammy Awards 1971)

Happened to see this photo of Paul with Meryl Streep.
Wondered when the photo was taken and found this video - it's most likely from when Meryl presented Paul with an award once around 1991 (Grammy?
) The photo looks like it's from that event. (Whoever edited the video seemed to like to put their "award greeting kiss" in slow motion at the end, lol.. whatever. ) -

Leslie, yes, I thought the same thing about that pic (from the Grammys in 1971)

Oh my.... (blush) ... he always looks absolutely gorgeous. Was the photo you posted taken in Miami, when they went deep sea fishing?
