If youre willing to pay the insane price of $700 per ticket.

It is quite a markup just for "swag." But that is just an excuse to charge a premium for desirable seats. I wonder what will happen with these tickets if they go unsold. Might be worth watchful waiting.

The are generally "reduced" to standard face value if not sold at the VIP price.

Apparently that is what happened because only a few are for sale now but they are now marked as "official platinum" (whatever that entails) and are at a variety of prices, including two front row floor seats next to mine.

OK, I found out what platinum tickets are: "Platinum Tickets are tickets that are dynamically priced up and down based on demand. Platinum Tickets are not part of VIP packages - they are tickets only."

Haven't really been back to Madison in 30 years since I graduated. Can't believe how much the campus area has changed!
Would be cool to see Abe, Rusty, Wix or Brian walking around State Street on this beautiful day! Maybe I'll see them at the Brathaus!

Ian's Pizza might be more their style.
Welcome back to Madison, Bernie! Will you be at soundcheck?

I won't consider soundcheck again until he gets rid of that small stage and it is truly a front row experience. I did manage to snag a first row ticket in 109 right at the stage so should be an excellent seat. I'll be the one with the "just got home from Pakistan just to see Paul" sign! Don't know Ian's...May have to check it out.

That sounds like a great seat. Hopefully they won't hassle us about bringing signs in.

Berniecat I spotted your sign! One setlist change....Save Us instead of Juniors Farm

For those on water patrol, we had 2 drinks of water tonight. Had the Save Us/Can't Buy Me Love combo instead of Junior's Farm/All My Loving. Besides that, everything was same.

Actually he has not done Save Us yet at these US shows, last night was the first. He has rotated All My Lovin with Can't Buy Me Love. So I saw Juniors Farm and Cant Buy Me Love in Lexington. But back to Madison, great show, I think he lingered a bit longer on the I've Got A Feeling guitar jam at the end. Nobody brought up on stage.

Sounds like you saw another great show, very jealous, but happy for you and the gang! Did Dave get a shout out as usual from the Man?

He sure did! He even mentioned him while telling the Russian story, about how many times he's probably heard it. Here's a good review that mentions him:
