Interesting that McCartney III has not one but two bird themed songs, Long Tailed Winter Bird and later Bird Winter.
Started to list the various bird-themed songs fro over the years:
Blackbird
Bluebird
Single Pigeon-great harmonies!
On the Wings of a Nightingale, done by the Everly Brothers. Great song wish he had kept.
Two Magpies
anyone think of a bird that has flown away from my memory?
"On The Wings Of A Nightengale is great song but he wrote it specifically for the Everly Brothers and it was perfect for them and their vocal style. That being said, I wished McCartney had done a official recording (there is a demo of it on youtube) of him doing the song or even sang it in concert.
You are right about the song being so well-suited for the Everlys. Their harmonies really are superb on that recording. The demo bootleg version of Paul's is lacking in refinement but it would have been interesting for him to do it live.

LOL Well I expanded my phone screen and I can see them!! Wow
I don't have a computer and my phone screen is about 3.5" x 3.5" so it's hard to see small things. My typing letter keys are smaller than peas so I have typos too. Due to the small size, I don't have the time or patience to go back pages to check that someone 5 pages back might have wrote the same bird name and I'm definitely not going to look up every song to see who wrote it, when I know it's a BeaTles song!! That's good enough that I know it's a BeaTles song!!! So thanks, you all really don't have to bother correcting me. I either can't see it well enough, or my fingers hit the wrong key again. Try to go with it and use your best guess... Peace and Love and Happy Thanksgiving for all the good in the world Amen

I really don't know how anyone can even use these boards on a phone? Far easier with a large monitor that's for sure. I've often wondered how they managed to get those doves to land on them? There's no evidence of any food being used to attract them.

I think I actually posted 2 John songs on the previous page.

Paul was a co-author of those two songs.

It reminds me of Oriental Nightfish a bit...especially at the 1:19 mark.
