I recently got a box of N95 masks for when I can't avoid being in crowded indoor spaces, even though I'm vaccinated. I prefer not to die and don't plan on trying the horse dewormer that the MAGA crowd is so excited about (and jamming the lines of poison control centers because of, but I digress).
Do you believe those morons?! I loved the tweet from the FDA (or some government agency) that said "You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Don't take it!"
That may have been the best FDA tweet of all time. But the fact that it was necessary... jeez.

I got my booster shot today at Walgreens.

I am still waiting on response from my doctor on booster shot since I go COVID in August and should have natural antibodies. Do I get booster now or wait another month or two.

Wait about 90 days from the start of your Covid infection to get booster. When did you have your original vaccinations? And it was Pfizer, right?

That was your 2nd shot or 1st? Then you got Covid in later August?! *confused*

Sorry, got 2nd shot at the end of February. Tested positive for COVID on Aug 3.

Talk to your doctor, but he may say to wait until Nov. 3rd to get the booster.

I got my booster back in late August and the third shot hit me much much harder than the first two did!

My first was the worst.

Being a Moderna person I am not officially eligible yet, but will line up as soon as I can. I am dreading it a bit, as the 2nd shot hit me like a ton of bricks, albeit for only 24 hours. But still way better than COVID!
Meanwhile, some outfit of nutcases ran a full page ad in today's San Francisco Chronicle telling us all to respect the "courage" of nurses who go unvaccinated. Jesus Effing Christ.

I hope they let all 18 to 64 year olds get the Moderna and Pfizer booster, just like they are letting the ones who got J&J to get a 2nd shot. It took his boss at work to convince my son-in-law to get vaccinated, now it will probably take an act of Congress for him to get the 2nd J&J!
Anybody who is running around unvaccinated right now obviously has a) a screw loose and b) a death wish! (And I'm obviously not talking about those who are allergic to one or more of the ingredients.) My son's girlfriend has a ton of allergies including polyethylene glycol which in used in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Polysorbate 80 is in the J&J vaccine and sometimes she's had trouble with that. There is an American company that is doing trials of NovaVax in India and it is a subunit protein vaccine instead of mRNA. I just hope they'll come up with something she can take.

Went to my first big concert in almost two years last night to see The Eagles. You had to show proof of vaccine or a negative covid test (that was taken 24 hrs prior to the concert) to get in and everyone had to wear a mask, but I think once the show started, only about 50% of us were wearing masks. It was so wonderful to attend again in person though and we had a great time!

It's a great feeling to see a concert again! Saw Christopher Cross recently and we needed to show our vaccine card.
I'm going to see another concert with my college buddies soon! Can't wait! It sure helps you feel better!I'm hoping the booster has a little bit less of the original vaccine amount. I only had a fever for a day and a half. Much better than having Covid and being stuck in the ICU and having nightmares and having to be turned and having to go to the bathroom in a bedpan in front of the cameras and being wired up for a month or more!

Was that Moderna? It seems to have stronger symptoms. Most people that I know, who got the Pfizer had no symptoms, compared to the Moderna.

Mine was Pfiser.
