Any Brits nearby could see him in person at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall.

Yes we *could* do, and I am nearby ish (40 mins train journey away from central London) but the reality is the tickets will be snapped up in just seconds. It's always the case right?
But I am hoping and praying that I am lucky enough to purchase these tickets. After the sadness of not seeing McCartney perform live in 2020, I'm desperate for some joy and the chance to see Macca at this prestigious event. Fingers crossed very tightly for tomorrow 10 am.....

An American friend of mine from California stayed up until 4am, became a member of the Southbank Centre and got tickets! She is flying to London for this in Nov. and meeting up with a bunch of her Fans On The Run friends.

Your friend is dedicated and I am excited for her! That's brilliant!
I'll probably get a streaming ticket if not lucky - but you can't beat simply beat being there in person, can you?
Wish me luck!

Anyone flying in from the US (or any other country for that matter) is taking a huge gamble. The covid infection rate is increasing again and by early November I can easily see the event being cancelled or various restrictions put in place to make overseas visitors having to isolate on arrival.

Yes, if it wasn't for the pandemic, I would have considered trying to attend this. But I'm not comfortable planning overseas travel at the moment. Best of luck to those who are attending. I did buy a streaming ticket and am looking forward to watching this! What's nice is that the stream will be kept available for viewing for a few days after the event, just in case I am not able to watch it live if my job gets in the way LOL.
-
Well, I got lucky - the que-ing susem was ok and by 10:30 i was able to get front row balcony tickets! So elated!
But as Kestrel has said - with the winter and the possiblity of further COVID restrictions, the event may well be cancelled. A possiblity that the second Macca event I have a ticket for gets cancelled due to COVID. To hell with COVID!!
But I live in hope, we'll have to see. So I am keeping my expectations realistic but it will be utterly brilliant to be in attendance for such a important moment in his career - as this is indeed.
Anyone else here manage to obtain tickets?

My friend probably wouldn't care. She is retired and has friends over there. (I think she has a lot of money too) And would you believe the Covid case rate per 100,000 people is LESS in the U.K. than in a lot of the U.S., including the state I live in?

Yeah,I can believe it which makes me wonder why we haven't got the US on our Red list? Unfortunately I think infections are going to rise a lot more this autumn and winter. Ugh.

No luck getting a ticket for the streaming event. Something about validation error keeps coming up, both this morning and a few minutes ago here in the eastern time zone, U.S. Anyone else having this problem?

I pretended to go in to get a $14 ticket - no problems at all and am on the page where I could click Buy Now. Did you get that far?
-
Made it to Buy Now and then it comes up validation era. Will try again this morning, hoping that the second day is sales will result in less demand on their system.
whatever happens, I have had my book order in since the first of the year and am looking forward to it.
-
Validation error continues! Perhaps I will get off this desktop and shift to the ipad before givinhg up. At least the ipad is from the comfort of a recliner. Glad my purchasees of Macca tickets concert tickets online always went flawlessly.

You still use a desktop computer?! (I still have one too, but it is turned off & unplugged. Also have 2 laptops that still - barely - work!)

Just bought a ticket - no problems! They have to send you a 4-digit validation code on your cell that you enter, then you put your credit card info in.
You don't have to watch it live - it's good for 7 days. (I would have to get up too early to watch it live!)
-
ETA: I thought it was going to be live streamed at 3:30 pm GMT, but it is EDT! Yay! Perfect!
-
Keep getting the code on my phone but still no luck. Tried on phone, desktop, and iPad. Think I will wait until November 5, which also happens to be Guy Fawkes Day

You mean an error code? That is so strange! Try again on your iPad - that's what I used and had no trouble.

I got tickets. I am flying in from New York on Thursday afternoon and returning Saturday morning.
Most airlines are doing free cancellations so I don't think its a risk booking tickets for it. -
