Either that, or he was just scratching an itch!
...or adjusting his hernia !!
Let's not get carried away here!
You'd better post up a new piccie quick.

This is a non-cropped version of the photo Nancy posted on previous page. Paul with "Drake's Drum," the horse he purchased for his father Jim in the mid 1960s.
Posted recently at Linda's official Instagram. Caption said it was taken in 1971 in Scotland.
So how did Paul get Drake's Drum back? Was Jim McCartney ill and couldn't care for him, or was he just not as interested in horse racing anymore and gave him back to Paul? Was just curious. I'm sure Paul would have always made sure the horse was well taken care of and had a good home. Not sure when the horse went to the great pasture in the sky, but seems likely he'd have been buried on Paul's farm in Scotland.
It must have been the horse Paul was riding in the "Heart of the Country" footage of he and Linda on horseback, shot about the same time as this photo.

What is this horse’s name! The LadyLeslie wrote:
This article states that Paul's parents, Mary and Jim, were the inspiration for the animated film "Ethel and Ernest"
This was a great animation and I really enjoyed it. I wondered at the time if it was influenced by Paul’s parents.
It was good to see the face of Drake’s Drum. I was just looking at the photo of Paul riding him and wondering if he was possibly a genetic chimerism, the way he has one colouring in the front and then looks like an Appaloosa on the back end. The photo I saw, named him Drake’s Drum. It’s the photo with Paul’s Head in the Clouds.

^ Regarding Drake's Drum, it was my understanding that he was retired from racing and Paul brought him to the farm in Scotland. Remember, he was purchased in 1964 and could have been 3 or 4 years old then. By 1970 or 1971 he'd be 9 to 11. Still okay to ride, just too old to race.
And as you can see from the uncropped photo, he was mostly all brown with black legs and 3 white socks. I don't know what horse is in Head In The Clouds. Will have to check that tomorrow. The horse Leslie and I posted is definitely Drake's Drum. The white pattern on his face is identical to this:
P.S. My guess is that Drake's Drum was a thoroughbred. They are lean and have thinner heads.

I love this pic of Paul and his dad!

Nice pic of Mike's right knee too !!

This is an uncropped version of the photo. I think Paul looks so much like his Dad, while Mike resembles their mother. They were cute kids, and Paul still has that same grin.

Photo posted July 7 on Paul's instagram, in honor of his father's birthday

It would have been my dad's birthday today so I'm remembering the lovely Jim. - Paul
Paul is definitely a chip off the old block, and it's obvious where he got his "silly gene" from

Feb. 28, 1967, around the time Paul wrote the words to When I'm 64. Jim was still 64 in photo. He turned 65 July 7, 1967.
I absolutely LOVE the way Paul looks here!

Me too! Love the Sgt Pepper 'stache!

It's mother Mary's birthday today!
Paul posted on Instagram and Twitter:
Today is the anniversary of my lovely mum's birth. Let's celebrate together. - Paul

^ Coincidence that three of the most important people in Paul's life were Libras? (John Oct. 9th, Linda Sept. 24th and mother Mary Sept. 29th)

Yes! That is interesting. According to astrologers, Libras and Geminis are supposed to get along really well.
George and Ringo were "Water signs" (Cancer and Pisces) while John and Paul were "Air signs" (Libra and Gemini).
It was thoughtful of Paul to remember his Mum today. Even after all these years he no doubt still misses her, and thinks of her often.
If it wasn't for her, and Paul's father of course, lol, we wouldn't have all the great Beatle and solo career music that we know and love! I can't imagine a world without their music, so I'm glad that Jim and Mary met and married, and had the great musician that we continue to appreciate.

Conversely, if Paul's mother hadn't have died then we wouldn't have all the great Beatle and solo career music that we know and love! Its pure fantasy of course but the following would present Paul with the ultimate dilemma. If Paul could go back in time with the knowledge and medicine to save his mother, would he do it in the knowledge that everything that came afterwards wouldn't have happened the way it did? So its highly unlikely he would have joined the Quarrymen, formed the Beatles, became a millionaire, met Linda, had Mary, Stella and James etc etc....

Hmmm.... I think if he went back in time and was able to save his mother, he'd still have knowledge of what he'd experienced in this current life's timeline... and bring it with him.... he'd make sure he was at the right place at the right time to meet John Lennon, to be at the Bag 0 Nails club to meet Linda at the precise moment... etc. Don't think any of that would have changed... only thing that would be different is that he probably wouldn't go to the Pride of Britain awards where he met Heather Mills... because with the same medicine he used to save his mother, he'd give the same medicine to Linda, where she'd be saved too, so he wouldn't have to meet anyone else... but problem with this scenario is that there would be no Beatrice, and if he remembered her from this timeline, he would miss his daughter.... so how can we make sure she's born while he's still married to Linda? lol (((Beatrice))) I wouldn't want him to cheat on Linda with Heather so Beatrice can be born... hmmm....
Another thing that would be different would be that if Paul could go back in time and keep John Lennon from being killed, there would be additional Lennon music, and possibly more Beatles music... especially if all 4 Beatles were on the Anthology... Paul could even prevent Brian Epstein from taking too many pills the night he died, so that might have prevented the Beatles from even breaking up in the first place...
Yikes, I got carried away here... but there's so many endless possibilities

Hi Matton, Welcome to the Maccaboard. I remember when studying Greek mythology that Matton was the God of breadmaking and growing vegetables. Perfect username for anyone that likes Paul and Linda and their choice to go veggie!
So many people have written about how their health problems have gotten better just by switching to a plant based diet. I believe there is something to that.

What you're forgetting is that only the current Paul would have all that knowledge. If he went back in time and was somehow able to heal his mother, he would then leave and go back to 2021. Young Paul would not lose his mother in 1956. He would probably still take up guitar and meet John, but it's doubtful Mary would have let him quit his job and later run off to Germany with the band. Unless he had defied his mother, or convinced her to let him do these things, there would not be The Beatles (famous worldwide) If he was able to do that, everything else would play out the same.

Why would he need to leave and go back to 2021? He has to stay there to help Young Paul meet John, and Linda... and to tell Young Paul "go to Germany anyway!" It defeats the purpose of him making the time travel if he can't help his mother and Linda or help Young Paul make the right connections
