Well that settles it....we HAVE to have a get together!!!!!
-
Right you are!
-
It's great to see Paul play Iowa again!!!!
-
Isn't it? I will be going to where I grew up and fell in love with Paul and I can hardly wait!
-
You say you grew up there....where do you live now????( Just wondered if you were driving far)!!
-
I'm in Colorado now and I will be flying in. I did reserve a rental car.
-
What a fun road trip!!! Hope I get to meet up with you!!!
-
Hopefully Seuss will help us figure out a time and place. I got the car because I know my cousins won't want to leave as early as I will and they won't want to savor the moment after the show like I will. I will have to wait for the confetti! I have confetti from 8 shows in 2002 and 4 in 2003!

So, does everyone want to meet at a place (with food?) within walking distance of the arena? I'll also e-mail Polly from KIOA sometime this month and see if they're going to do a live remote from anywhere and maybe that's the place we should be - she and Maxwell seemed to think that might be fun. I think I'll also let Kyle Munson from the DsM Register know where we'll be. He's already let me know he might contact me to get my thoughts on the show since I've seen Paul a few other times in a wide variety of venues and also let him know my views on the arena's ticketing system (or lack thereof)
-
Yes, Seuss, can you please make the arrangements. I'd love to talk to Kyle Munson. We exchanged several emails over the tickets, too. I've seen Paul over 20 times and could certainly help him with his review! I will show no bias either. Do you know anything about the parking situation?
-
I guess I'd better let you all know that I'll be meeting up with all of you also,so make room for 3 more...]
-
Now we just have to know where!
-
Well,I like the wings at Hooters........
-
Count me in as well!!! I don't care where we meet...I'll be coming from Kansas City, so I'm not at all familiar with anything!! Wherever you decide is fine with me!!! Can't wait to meet everyone, and finally put faces with names!!!!

I'll e-mail Polly tomorrow and see if they've decided about a remote. Once I find that out - we can decide on a place and I can let Kyle know. Do people want to be downtown close to the arena? There are places on Court Avenue (an older more historic district) that wouldn't be too far. Someone mentioned Hooters - that's pretty far - in West Des Moines. I saw something about parking in the paper before the Tom Petty show. There is a lot north of the arena - maybe a few blocks walking and metered parking here and there along the street. There's a pay parking ramp closer to the Civic Center - again a bit of walking but not too far I don't think. I'll check with my husband - he's better with logistical things than I am : Let me think on it just a bit - then I'll try to find out how many are interested! Looking forward to meeting some of you
-
Thanks for doing this for us, Seuss. I really don't want to go to Hooters I'd rather be closer to the venue. And my parents are going to kill me for getting a car!
-
Ladies,ladies...the Hooters suggestion was just me having a bit of a laugh, and was not intended to be serious.Of course.there will be plenty of hooters at the show to admire if one choses to partake. Scruffs dear, you are how many years of age and your folks will be mad for you renting an auto?I'm still chuckling over that one... As for a meet up,I say we do wait until further notice of the KIOA thing you speak of.I believe I'm planning to go down to the arena very early on that day and try to catch a glimpse of Paul, and to hear possibly some soundcheck. The closer to Wells Fargo we are,the better,as walking would do me just fine, unless it raining or s#*&*#g...I'd think we'd need to meet up many hours b4 the show,as I'm sure we'd all like to be there long before it starts...just my thoughts... Tonight we will learn of the playlist !! Ta ta,pip pip and cheerio!!

Too funny - I don't mind Hooters - just wanted everyone to know how far away it was I'll let everyone know what I find out from KIOA - I imagine they don't plan these things all that much in advance; however, I will see what info I can get. I'm with you Maccatak - the closer to the arena the better
-
The closer to the arena the better. I really only want to park once. I've never been to Hooters. I've just heard about them.
-
I'll be staying at the Renaissance Savery(I think it's close to the arena). Hopefully I can walk to the show!!!! Wherever you guy's decide for a get-together is GREAT with me!!!!
