Hey M.Scruff, where are your seats in Des Moines? You would be hard pressed to get better than your seats in Denver last time...wow,I'm so jealous! It is pretty nice to know that we don't have to pay $250 for the good seat this time around, isn't it? And I'm thrilled that the show won't be in Vets, now that place had some of the worst acoustics ever! I believe I talked to you back in 2002 during the last tour.I think you said your folks thought you were off your rocker for going to all those shows..Do I have the right person?
-
We may have spoken. My parents KNOW I am off my rocker for my Paul obsession and going to the shows. So does my sister. When I asked if she and her husband wanted to come, they said "been there, done that" because I took them to Ames in 1990 and they must not have been impressed! My dad says I don't have a brain when it comes to Paul McCartney : I went to many a concert at Vets in my teenage years and I don't think they had acoustics. No, my seats this year will not be in Row 5 like in Denver in 2002 or in Row 2 in Sacramento in 2002 or Row 1 in Boulder in 1993, but I am happy with Row T. I couldn't figure out the site and almost got shut out.

WOW! This thread is twice the size of Dallaswhich is the other thread I've been followin only because I saw Paul there last, and so many folks showed me so much Texas hospitality(Fletch and Donna,u know I'm right!). Because we're the cheapest show in the nation,it wouldn't surprise me to run into some Macca fans from other countries, and I will certainly try to show them how friendly we can be here in Iowa... Only 5 months to go... If I fell in love with you, would you promise to be true and help me understand cause I've been in love before and I know that love is more than just holding hands..........
-
Jim, You're right about the Dallas hospitality! Lol, think the real texans were: Mike, Nelle Belle, and Donna. I was an out of towner from Memphis. Guess since Memphis isn't getting Paulie this tour, then I will have to settle on seeing 1964 The Tribute in October. Cheers!

Maccatak, were you on the board in 2002? Is that how we talked?
-
I can't wait! Macca is finally playing Iowa!

Hey Fiser - I got this, too. Obviously I don't need a place to stay but do you think they mean October 27 (the night of the show) instead of October 28
-
Thats what I was thinking. I checked the site and for the 28 it had the package available and also on the 27 which is a bit more usefull for me. I'm probably going to do this. But yeah it was a bit confusing I was scared for a minute there.

Now I remember! A gray haired lady has a hard time remembering things with all this Paul excitement! I love Unheard of..., and so have others. I've actually met Beatnut. Yes, he's something. I will be standing in Row T, but he won't be in Des Moines to whack me over the head! My cousin's daughter works at the Savery and has gotten us some good deals staying there. It's really nice since they redid it.

I went to the Wells Fargo website. I guess all our moaning about the ticket buying process made them do some changes. It is much easier to navigate than it was before. I love the webcam. They are installing seats
-
My wife gave me tickets for our anniversary. Looking forward to seeing Paul in concert also since I am a drummer I am looking forward to seeing Abe Labroiel Jr. live.
-
Glad you found the board. You will enjoy Paul and Abe!

Hey Maccascruff - actually I saw a bit on the news regarding the Events Center - the seats are there - just covered in plastic. I love the webcam, too! I keep trying to figure out which section is MINE

Nssd70 - Welcome to the board and the Official Des Moines thread. Where in Iowa are ya from?
-
My parents had told me they were installing the seats. Then they asked if I was coming! So, the secret is out
-
Has anyone heard what the set list might be? I live in Des Moines.
-
Looking for 1 ticket to either this show or the show in Omaha. Will buy two if you are not willing to part with just one, wife not really sure if she wants to go or not. Just let me know. Thanks, Justin http://www.js-place.com

There may be rumors of the set list as we get closer to the concert, but we won't know until after Miami on September 16. I really don't want to know until Toronto on October 10, but there is probably no way to avoid learning the set list.
