Seuss, is that what the hotel across the street from the old Vets is called now? It has been called so many things over the years? You can walk to it from the Arena.

Thanks for the info Suess what time do the bars close up there, it's 3 on the Missouri side here and 2 on the Kansas side.
2 a.m. here as far as I know - can't say I've been in one that late in quite awhile however

Yes, I think it used to be a Starlight at one time. It's directly north of the arena - I had totally forgotten it was there - could only think of the places downtown.

I went to a wedding reception about 25 years ago there and we stayed there that night, but it wasn't being operated by the same people then as it is now.

Well I guess the fridge is not the best place huh?? That's where I hang all my important stuff
-
I'm glad they arrived fiser. I know you were concerned and don't lose them in the move! Glad I'm not making what seems to be an annual move this year.
-
I hope everyone who wants to go to the show will obtain tickets and the ones you purchased. I purchashed tixs to 93 New Orleans - and the agent swore they were center 2nd row. They were 2nd row alright but NOT center. As I paid via credit card I got the charge removed! lol
-
I didn't buy my tickets from a scalper. I bought them when they went on sale. No false advertising there. I really don't know what your post has to do with the Des Moines thread.

My remarks have to do with any and all shows. Des Moines is having their first Macca taste and hopefully not their last. However, I want everyone who wants to attend to be able to do so. I also dont want anyone to be taken to the cleaners. If any of my experience can help someone/s avoid that I am only too glad to assist.

Yea the fridge is probably not the best idea it would be my luck that some wind would blow them down and I wouldn't notice untill it was too late and they had been stuck under the fridge and ripped when it was moved. I have them hidden in plain sight on my dresser for now Ahh how I hate to move, the bad thing is I just moved 6 months ago. Thats the last time I sign a six month lease. At least this new place is bigger and nicer.

Paul played in Ames in 1990, so it isn't the first time he has been to Iowa. It is just the first time he has been to Des Moines.
-
Yes I recall pig farmers picketing the show shock
-
Now, my brother-in-law is a hog farmer and he went to the show
-
How are concerts in the arena? Will there be enough room for all of Paul's screens. I hope so, because I am in the nose bleed seats at the back. Is the sound good?

Maccafan82 - The Wells Fargo Arena is brand new and not even finished at the moment. One of the first shows will be Tom Petty in July. It is rumored to be very similar to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. I saw Paul there in 2002 - it was a great place. I'm sure WF Arena will be large enough to accommodate whatever Paul wants to do or he wouldn't be playing there

Yeah. It was a great show. I loved the Arena. It was much better than Denver. It will be hard for Des Moines to top it
-
Consider me new,but I've been signed up since 2002 when the Driving Rain tour was happening...We had 13th row floor seats at the Dallas show, and will be F2 5th row this time around...Woo hoo !!! Feel free to check out my website at MSN communities to view the pictures I took on the last tour...

With a brand new arena, we can't be sure what things will be like. Paul wouldn't have booked it if it can't hold the stage, screens, etc. I just don't think that would happen. I was in St. Paul in 2002, as well as Denver. I think in Denver I was so in awe of being in the 5th row, I didn't notice if the acoustics were bad or what. I was just having a great time.
