The Beatles Mentioned on TV

On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon was asking all these questions of Ricky Gervais and one was "Who is the best Beatle?" He went with Paul McCartney after he said he supposed he'd better answer one of them who was still alive!
The next question was "If you were a cannibal, which famous person would you want to eat?" and Ricky told Jimmy he was a vegan. Jimmy says "How about Paul McCartney, he's a vegetarian." Ricky says, "Well so is a cow, but I'm not going to eat a cow!"
It was ridiculously funny!

Jeopardy National College Championship
Grammy's Album Of The Year for $600:
1967: This band won for "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
Black guy from my daughter's alma mater UGA answered correctly! (albeit a bit tentatively as if he wasn't sure The Beatles was the correct answer!)

On Bull 2/24/22, they were trying to figure out this dead guy's password to a cryptocurrency wallet. He had left his son a photo of them taken a long time ago when they were fishing (the cryptocurrency card was found behind the picture frame) They noticed the shadow of the picture taker in the photo.
One character says "I have this picture of my aunt and my grandmother from a trip they took to New York. My grandmother asked this stranger to take the picture. Turned out to be Paul McCartney. We call it the Paul McCartney photo."
Other character says "I don't think Paul McCartney has 14 letters." (they somehow knew the password had 14 letters)
First character: "No, I just wondered if the password is the name of the photographer"
(sure enough, they found out the name of the photographer from the son and her name -NETTYMCCRACKEN - was the password!)

The Beatles had an entire category, Beatles Love Songs, on Jeopardy!
$200: "You think you've lost your love, well I saw her yesterday-yi-yay" (She Loves You)
$400: "Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be" (All You Need Is Love)
$600: "I'll always be true, so please" (Love Me Do)
$800: "A love like ours could never die, as long as I have you near me" (And I Love Her)
$1000: "I can see them laugh at me and I hear them say, Hey" (You've Got To Hide Your Love Away)
The only one they had any trouble with was the last one - the one guy left out the "You've" but the older woman got it.

On The Late Late Show with James Corden's monologue last night:
According to a new study, Americans have very poor knowledge of British people and our culture. Only 29% of Americans knew that Harry Styles is British and only 10% knew that Dua Lipa was from the U.K. And guys, I have some news about The Beatles that is going to blow your mind!

Only 40,000 out of 332 million? A mere trifling!

Yesterday on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, he was doing this game where he was asking Brooke Shields if she'd ever met certain celebrities and the other guest (Sam Hueghan who plays Jamie Fraser on Outlander - the only reason I recorded the show! - had to guess if it was true) Andy asked if she ever met a Beatle and she said yes, Paul & George. (it was true, but she gave no details)

On PBS, Great Performances, the James Corden play "One Man, Two Guvnors" originally on Nov. 6, 2020.
James' character says: My father, Tommy Henshall, God rest his soul, he'd 'a been proud of me, what I done with my life. Until today. I used to play washboard in a Skiffle band, but they all went to see The Beatles on Tuesday night and sacked me Wednesday morning. It's ironic really, 'cause I actually started The Beatles. Yeah! I went to see them in Hamburg - they were rubbish! I said to that John Lennon, I said "John, this is embarrassing. You're going nowhere mate. Have you thought about writing your own songs?"

Two times on 3/24/22:

Call Me Kat: Kat's mom starts telling her all these stories about things she did in the past (went to Woodstock, etc.) that Kat has never heard before. She says to her mom "What else? Were you the 5th Beatle?"

On Bill Maher's new HBO comedy special, he was talking about "warnings" given before movies & TV. He said: I watched the Beatles documentary and at the beginning, "strong language and smoking." FYI:

Sedative

Saturday Night Live repeat from Mar. 1997. Sketch takes place in the House of Commons. Mike Myers (host) is playing Prime Minister John Major. Will Ferrell plays a member of Parliament who keeps talking about Oasis and yelling "Oasis rules!" The PM says "Mr. Shersby, you've been warned 7 times this month to stop bringing up Oasis!" Mr. Shersby: "But is not Oasis the greatest British band since The Beatles? Can we not vote on this?"
Later in the same show during Weekend Update with Norm MacDonald, he says "Earlier today the biggest auction ever of Beatles memorabilia took place in Tokyo. Among the one-of-a-kind items on the block were Paul McCartney's birth certificate, a white Mercedes Benz owned by John Lennon and rarest of all, a photo of George Harrison not looking haggard."
It was really interesting watching a 25-year-old SNL. Norm called his news "Fake News!" and they had to bleep out the word "retarded" in a Mike Myers sketch (I had the closed captioning on and they wrote it out!) Even though this was the year I got my first desktop home computer, the internet and computers was mentioned a couple times.
