Many people have said that THE BEATLES didn't record Metal music, "Revolution," "Paperback Writer" and "Helter Skelter," just to name a few, prove that they DID! Not only did THE BEATLES record Metal music, in my opinion, THE BEATLES invented Metal music!
The final 4 minutes of I Want You (She's So Heavy) is some of the Heaviest music ever recorded!
You know your Metal well beatlesfanrandy, well said.
And some of the best bass playing by Macca too (on I Want You)
Hi NancyR! Macca played some great bass patterns on "I Want You (She's So Heavy)!" Just talking about this song makes me want to hear it over and over again. I never get tired of hearing "I Want You (She's so Heavy)."
He was great on Come Together too!
Yes he was NancyR. "The End" is also a great Metal song, Paul's flawless bass patterns along with John's and George's blistering guitar solos (Some say that Paul played a guitar solo as well.) would make "The End" a great Metal song! Other than "Her Majesty," "The End" is a great way to end the ABBEY ROAD album.
Yes, Paul was one of the 3 guitar solos, definitely. From the book "100 Best Beatles Songs" by Spignesi & Lewis: "Paul, George and John--in that order--take turns playing the guitar lead solo during the song, each taking three turns."
Thanks for the additional info NancyR, Paul really proved himself as an established guitarist, both rhythm and lead guitar.
