Paul's four concerts in 2008 each began with different songs...considering past practices, pretty unusual. Do you think he'll continue that trend with next month's shows? _________________ Wings - 5/21/76 Met Paul during Driving USA Tour-4/21/02 "High-five" from Paul during US Tour-10/5/05 In Pauls' DVD "The Space Within US" At Pauls' NY "secret" gig - 6/13/07!!! Change Begins Within Benefit NYC - 4/4/09
I don't know about the Vegas thing, but I'm pretty sure the Radio City gig will be different if for no other reason, Paul will probably have an abbreviated set list - since, as has been noted, he's only one of a number of performers for what is estimated to be about a 4 hour show.
WOW four hours?!? Really?!?! I better get a Hotel for sure!! There will not be a train home at that hour! Glad to find this out now! I still can't believe I am going....For a laugh check out the Comic Relief T-Shirt Paul is wearing on his website...awesome. Luv Ya All
Your reply to that post made it seem like you believe Sir Paul McCartney will be playing a four hour set. To be clear the post you replied to stated that the whole benefit concert will be four hours total and that Sir McCartney will likely get a shortened set of around thirty minutes or there abouts. Peace, Tim

Hi there... My name is Christie I am from NJ and I learned about this concert too late... like anyone else on this board I am DYING to see Paul McCartney live. Being a young, aspiring performer myself he means so much to me. anyone with extra tickets please reply to this!! It would mean the world!

Still hoping that a few cheaper tickets might be released before the show. Hope springs eternal! If you haven't been before, try to make a trip over to Central Park West to see Strawberry Fields; such a peaceful spot right inside the park. There's a guy selling t-shirts, etc. with Strawberry Fields logo for very reasonable prices at a cart ouside the park entrance. It's right across from the Dakota so you can see both places. Also, there is a little cafe right down the street called Cafe La Fortuna where John and Yoko used to go almost every day. I think I heard that they closed not too long ago but still worth a look. Have a blast!

Can you get them in the States? I waited too long to order them online... I called TK Maxx and they still had a bunch left, but would not ship them for me. I did get some noses tho... I would love to get one for my brother....Does anyone know where to get them?

Early on when first announced a few members with store contacts made enquiries about shipping to the USA. None were able to overcome the basic advice that the T-shirts could not be mailed overseas - simply because there was no mechanism set up to do so. The only way i know they succeeded was if they had friends, relatives or acquaintances in the UK willing to visit the local TK Maxx store to buy them and ship them. The main web-site for on-line sales has shown "unavailable for the last week directing visitors to the local stores in person. When I visited my local TK Maxx store on the actual Red-Nose Day there were only a handful left of the more expensive ladies fashion cut T-shirts - and no Beatles ones at all. Sadly that seems to be it for this year. Stella will have to go back to the drawing board again for the next Red Nose appeal which happens every two years.... Her t-shirts were seeen everywhere and were a great talking point. Good Job Stella. Martin

What makes anyone think that Paul's segment will be a mere 30 minutes long. He is a clear headliner; it is not equal billing with the other artists. I would expect 1 hour +, similar to the Hollywood Bowl show many years back.

yeah me 2

Pauls' set at the Concert for New York City was just about a half hour or 40 minutes.....and that's with approximately 20 artists performing that night. I'm sure his performance will run about an hour to an hour and a half.
-
I dunno for over there for but for festivals over in these parts (UK0 whoever is headlining tends to do near enough 2 hours so I dont see any reason why that shouldnt be the same at Coachella... hope it is anyway

Coachella you'll definitely get a full set, but we were talking about the Lynch Benefit

There were only 7 artists at the Hollywood Bowl show, including Paul. A couple of them only did one or two songs. I can't remember how early the concert started, but am pretty sure it was earlier than 7:30 pm--which is when the DL show begins. There are 10 artists listed for this show and even if some of them only get one song each or appear in combination, I still do not expect Paul to play a full set.
-
I agree that it won't be a full set. I just suspect that it will be at least an hour long, perhaps longer, as he is clearly a headliner.
-
Where did you find out that the concert will be ~4 hours? That'd be incredible.
