One of the highlights of my trip to London in 2012 was crossing Abbey Rd and standing outside the Abbey Road studio.

        Maybe I'm amazed !!

          It never gets old - I've done it 4 times now! (1993, 2006, 2011 and 2016)

Cool. Got to admit the London drivers have patience to put up with all the tourists every day - ha ha.

The last time I was there in August, we went on a late Sunday afternoon. It was raining just slightly and I was able to get a pic of only my friend walking across. There was one person at the side in the pic of me crossing. We were virtually the only 2 people around.

I got a picture of me walking across and even did the barefoot thing (it was summer). A nice young lady than took a picture of my family doing it for us. We returned the favor and got one for her and her boyfriend.

                Maybe I'm amazed !!

Done the crosswalk many times. But I've also been inside. I was lucky enough to be in London when they opened Abbey Road to the public for a mini-tour and presentation during the summer of 1983. My friends and I went to it twice. 😉 There was a short tour and then led us all into Studio 2 for an audio/video presentation which included lots of Beatles outtakes (sounding incredible thanks to the studio speakers, of course; I wanted to go home and toss out my stereo ). It was a treat to be inside the actual studio where those recordings were made.

I remember hearing about this at the time. You were so lucky!

Yes! That's why we decided to go back for a second time, we couldn't let the opportunity go by.

Love going to Abbey Road, but as much as i love it outside it was unreal to get to spend 3 hours inside in 2005! We spent an hour in studio 2, then everyone went to studio 1 to watch "Backbeat" on a screen! I should have been in again a few years ago, but i was ill, so my sister went without me To the talk thingy. You were allowed to take photos in that one - but not in the one i went to

                        .

Thanks - she's still never shown me the pictures she took inside as she knows i was so gutted to not be going that i'd rather pretend she didn't go either 😉
