How long did John stay at the ashram with the maharishi?

Prudence Farrow said at her talk Saturday that John and George meditated eight hours a day for three months while in India. She said that she and George and John were in the program, but that everyone else who came were visitors. Paul wrote songs and so did John. I have always read that John left early. Does anyone else know the answer to this?

It was Ringo who left early, as he did not like the food. John left after Mia Farrow had some trouble with the Maharishi, and I suspect Paul went with him.

I believe this is correct. Ringo and Maureen left after a couple/few weeks since I guess Ringo ran out of baked beans.
Plus, their son Jason was only about 6 months old!! Paul and Jane left after about 4 weeks and J&G 6 weeks. Prudence said she arrived earlier and stayed much longer. P.S. Can you imagine having John & George as your TM buddies?! -

In more recent times Ringo has revealed that he and Maureen always intended to leave after a couple of weeks as they didn't want to be separated from their young children any longer than that. Although its become a bit of a joke, Ringo took enough English food to last him just the two weeks.

She talked about the supposed "incident" on the 2nd day I heard her speak (if you're referring to the Maharishi coming on to one of the girls) Prudence said that she doesn't believe it happened. There was this thing he did with everyone that I can only imagine is a "laying on of hands" (by the way she described it) She said that she and the others just loved when the Maharishi did this. She explained that one of the girls had a birthday and he took her privately and was going to do this "touching" thing (my words, not hers) and then the rumors started!

Oh, and nobody really got to ask her any questions, even on the 3rd day talk which was supposed to be a Q&A! Prudence talked non-stop and barely took a breath. It was all Joe Johnson (the moderator) could do to ask a question or get a word in edgewise! I had asked him to ask her if she knew that Paul played drums on Dear Prudence, but he never got the chance! I also wanted him to point out that she was only 20 in Feb. 1968!

Right. It was definitely not three months for John and George. They weren't even there for three months. So, she probably just got the amount of time they were there mixed up. She also said that Yoko told her that John meditated for 30 minutes everyday until the day he died. I don't doubt that Y. could have told her that. It makes a good story, but on the long weekend according to most accounts, including his own, he was drunk or high most of the time. So, that sounds more like revisionist history.
