WHO WENT TO A BEATLES CONCERT (for broadcast on CBS)
-
** I heard Sgt Pepper/With ALittle Help from My Friends was performed by you know who! So who went to a Beatles concert ?? Isn't that wonderful to say that, TODAY, "Who went to a Beatles concert ??!"**

Yes it is and yes I did and yes it was very good. The taping lasted 4 1/2 hours, from 7:30 P.M to its conclusion around Midnight, interlaced with many documentary clips, music films and tidbits. A few of them were shown during taping breaks due to the setup for the next segment, for the benefit of the audience, but it is my understanding that the show will air as a 2 hr. special. So I am not sure how many of the film inserts during the taping will be included in the show, but many of them were well-known music films and shorts. That was Eric Idle? I'm not sure the camera caught him. EDIT: It was Not a 4 1/2 hr. "Beatles Concert". But I was not expecting "a Beatles Reunion" to begin with. They were present, in attendance, with a couple of surprises, and I will leave it at that.

Actually it was just over 3 1/2 hours, from 7:30 to a little after 11:00 including set changes. And without spoilers, I will say Ringo did three songs in his own set, all Beatles classics. Then Paul set up with His Band and did 4 of his classics before he played Sgt. Pepper's, and then Ringo came out for With A Little Help...and one other. None of the songs they did were covered by any of the other performers. You will not believe the finale, it was incredible! And Paul was in the best voice I've heard for a long time! Both of them were! So many surprises during the show...It was an amazing night and I still can't believe I was there! (As for all the film segments I will add this, people who have been clamoring to see Let It Be released take heart, they played a lot of clips from this movie during the set changes, and the film has been restored in pristine audio and video. I wouldn't say when or bet on a release date, but Let It Be is ready, and much of it was playing last night in the presence of Paul, Ringo, Olivia, and Yoko!)

3 1/2 hours that will be edited down to 2 hours.
Oh...and it couldn't have been a Beatles concert...with 2 missing members.

I also took this as a clue that Let It Be is being worked on for re-release. The video and audio was far better than any thing I have seen/heard before.

I've thought about this carefully and you know what...It was the two living Beatles playing TOGETHER live at the Grammy Salute to The Beatles. Each played ONLY Beatles numbers in their own sets, and then together they played two Beatles songs! When Ringo ran onstage to join Paul on With A Little Help From My Friends, it was The Beatles live in 2014! They did not play this down, especially at the conclusion when they did something together that only The Beatles did. You will see it on TV Feb. 9th, 2014.

What kills me is that other groups can appear with missing/dead members and still be called The Beach Boys, Chicago, Queen, Journey, etc. but not The Beatles.

That's only because we know them all so well. Everyone does...even your parents. I mean...any fan knows the name of any given band...BUT it is & it was totally different with the Beatles. The four headed monster.

I know this doesn't mean much, and it really doesn't look like much, but if you would like a copy of my e-ticket to the tribute show, you can get it here. This is the e-ticket .pdf file that I printed my ticket from. I changed the name of the file to remove the security code and to make for better memory. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vyyewdqz7m1tqxj/BeatlesTributeTicket2014.pdf If and When the download screen appears, you can choose to Open the file for viewing in your browser, or save the file, and/or Print from it as you like.

No it isn't...must be your computer again.

Is the lettering messed up when printing the ticket or when viewing the file in a browser window? I see it looks blurry in the browser, particularly the fine print, but it should print cleanly. It is the original ticket file. If it appears to be too blurry in the browser window, make sure to set the Zoom to 100%, and you can also try setting the Zoom to 150% to read the fine print. You might need to update Adobe Reader. It could be a conflict with newer version?? If you download the file and open it in Adobe Reader/Acrobat, then at the top of the program click View > Zoom to find the control. In a browser, the Zoom control may appear at the top center of the viewing window as a + /- sign next to a number, or may appear as a Magnifying Glass / Looking Glass symbol with a + or a - (minus) sign, and might only appear in a browser's viewing window when you move your mouse down in the lower right-hand corner of the page window. If so, a black bar will appear in the lower right-hand corner with the several control options which you can click. Else, in a browser try looking for View > Zoom in the browser's top taskbar.

You were right--it looks fine on my other (new) laptop!
(and I was referring to the way the page looked in my browser, not a print copy)

Have you solved that problem with closing the windows?

Yes, you have to use a mouse or it doesn't work right. You go to the top left of the screen until the hand appears and you left click and drag the screen (box gets smaller) to the bottom right and it disappears. Pain in the ass. There are also icons that they call "Charms" which are hidden and you have to bring your mouse over to the bottom right to get them to show up (doesn't always happen!) Then you can click on one like "Settings" then "Power" button to turn off the computer (just one example) More pain in the ass.
