Come one, come all! Don't forget that next weekend is the 50th anniversary of The Beatles coming to America, and what better way to celebrate than with a four-day music festival in NYC, the city where the magic occurred all those years ago? If you're going to The Fest For Beatle Fans, the concerts are all in the evening, and 100% of the ticket proceeds go to three charities, one for autism research, one dedicated to providing children with music education, and one for a NYC food bank. http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/four-day-music-festival-in-nyc-marks-the-beatles-50th-anniversary-of-arriving-in-america-with-100-of-ticket-proceeds-going-to-charity/

Get ready for some interviews with the performers taking part in the NYC: Fab 50 events! I'm posting most of them on my blog today. The first interview I'm posting is from Bobby Hebb's daughter, Kitoto. She will be at the Thursday concert at The historic Apollo Theater, and she will be honoring her dad's memory by singing "Sunny," something she has never done in front of a crowd before. As you probably remember, Bobby toured with The Beatles during their 1966 tour, and Kitoto will be performing on the same bill as Dionne Warwick, Mary Wilson, Gary US Bonds, and many other performers at a must-see show! 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of New York. http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/02/kitoto-von-hebb-performer-at-the-twist-shout-benefit-concert-at-the-apollo-february-6th-730-p-m/

I had the distinct honor of speaking to a female pioneer in the music industry: Melanie, "The Queen of Woodstock". You probably know her best as the woman who wrote "Lay Down (Candles In The Rain)", "Beautiful People" and "Brand New Key", but what you may not know is that she's as prolific as she is diverse. She's not stopped working in all of her decades of music. Melanie is as talented as she is down-to-earth and hysterically funny. She is just one of the icons who will be performing Saturday at the Town Hall show: America Celebrates The Beatles (February 8th, 7:30 p.m.), and this is one of those shows that you will be telling your grandkids about. Don't miss out! Event and ticket information are available as links in the interview: http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/03/melanie-the-queen-of-woodstock-performing-at-america-celebrates-the-beatles-concert-february-8th-730-p-m/ ETA: She has a funny story about playing with John and Yoko at the One-to-One Concert at Madison Square Garden--it's included in the interview.

Walter Egan, another incredible interviewee, gave me so much to work with and to enjoy during our chat. He has a new album coming out, Myth America, and he's also one of the talented and iconic performers who will be in New York City this Saturday as part of the NYC: Fab 50 show, "America Salutes The Beatles". For those who are able to attend, please do. Not only will you be getting a stellar night of music, but you'll also be helping a charity dedicated to autism research, as 100% of the ticket proceeds are being donated to that organization. A chance to bask in the glory that is Walter Egan as he also plays an original tune as well as a Beatle song. Nothing you had planned for this Saturday will top that. https://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/walter-egan-the-man-the-myth-the-legend-plays-saturday-february-8th-for-nycfab-50/

Gene Cornish, guitar player of The Rascals, graciously agreed to talk about the upcoming event at the historic Town Hall in New York City. Saturday, February 8th at 7:30 p.m., a line-up to beat all line-ups of performers and entertainers will wow and amaze everyone in the audience. In a night filled with epic performances, I predict one of the night's biggest moments will be the collaboration of Gene Cornish and Tommy James. It's going to knock your socks off. https://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/gene-cornish-the-rascals-guitar-player-will-tommy-james-at-nycfab50-event-saturday-february-8th/

Tommy James. Still getting over the fact that I interviewed him late last week, but I have to say that it was fun, informative, and he couldn't have been sweeter. He's a true legend, and when he hits the stage with Gene Cornish from The Rascals this Saturday night at The Town Hall in NYC, you'd better be there. THIS is going to be one of those happenings that you'll be telling your kids about. It's a true all-star line-up, and one that is all for charity. http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/05/tommy-james-talks-the-1960s-the-beatles-and-saturdays-landmark-show-in-nyc/

Gary DeCarlo, the voice behind "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye," will be performing this Saturday at the historic Town Hall in New York City as a part of music's dream line-up! I saw him perform this song last year at The Monkees Convention, and it brought the house down! 100% of proceeds go to charity, so it's a great night of music for a great cause. 😉 Oh, and guess which Beatles' song his "Na Na" knocked out of the #1 spot? Read the interview to find out. 😉 http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/gary-decarlo-na-na-hey-hey-kiss-him-goodbye-at-the-town-hall-in-nyc-saturday-february-8th/

Another guy who beat The Beatles on the charts! Ron Dante. He is the voice behind "Sugar Sugar" and "Tracy," as well as a producer and backing vocalist on many of Barry Manilow's biggest hits like "Mandy." He may have managed to live in the background, but he's not the slightest bit bitter. In fact, he's cheerful, happy people still love his songs, and is ready and raring to perform Saturday as part of an all-star line-up at The Town Hall in NYC as part of NYC:Fab50's concerts. 100% of ticket proceeds go directly to charity! http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/ron-dante-on-singing-sugar-sugar-beating-the-beatles-on-the-charts-and-his-performance-this-saturday-nycfab50-at-the-town-hall/

My first country artist interview, Meghan Linsey, is phenomenally talented. She is also a sweetheart, just a real joy to talk to. She will be performing tomorrow night at the Apollo in New York City as part of an all-star line-up that will be kicking off the four-day music festival known as NYC:Fab50. The four concerts are being put on to commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' arrival in the United States, and every cent of ticket proceeds are being donated to charity. Meghan and I talked about her involvement in the event, why The Beatles are unique, and also her incredible cover of OneRepublic's "Counting Stars": http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/meghan-linsey-country-star-beatles-fan-and-performer-tomorrow-night-at-the-apollo-nycfab50-show/

The two bands that created the soundtrack of my high school years: Spin Doctors covering The Beatles, plus playing their own hits this Friday night in their old stomping grounds, New York City! Watch them jam out to the best song catalogue of all time while they remind the audience why they are epic live: http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/spin-doctors-gearing-up-to-cover-the-beatles-on-friday-february-7th-at-the-hudson-theater-in-new-york-city/

His song "Brother Louie" is the theme song of Louie CK's hit show "Louie," and he was in The Stories as well as providing back-up vocals for albums by big names like Foreigner and Billy Joel, yet what I'll remember most about him is how much I laughed during our interview. Why this man doesn't have his own radio show is beyond me! Come see Ian Lloyd this Saturday at The Town Hall in NYC! He'll be joined by friend John Ford from The Strawbs! http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/ian-lloyd-ready-to-rock-the-town-hall-on-saturday-february-8th-as-part-of-the-nycfab50-shows/

While I really don't ever watch American Idol unless it's the Beatle Theme Week, I have to say that talking with Siobhan Magnus tonight was an unexpected treat. Her uncle, who will be joining her at the Friday Town Hall concert for NYC:Fab50, was in Stryper and currently plays with Boston. Magnus herself is the voice of a '90s super group featuring members of several rock groups that I loved. She'll be bringing her voice and two amazing Beatles covers to the show this Friday, so don't miss it! 100% of ticket proceeds go straight to charity! http://mccartneyfans.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/siobhan-magnus-american-idol-finalist-and-performer-at-the-town-hall-in-nyc-saturday-february-8th/

Haven't slept much over the past week and a half. Parts of them will be in the book, yes. I'll be posting 2nd and 3rd parts of the interviews, but some segments of the interviews won't be going on my blog. The first parts of these interviews are mainly focused on promoting the shows that just took place. The rest of each interview focused on what they're up to now, what it was like to _________________, etc.
