Hopefully that does not mean you are leaving. Where is everyone going?
Remind him that he has a faithful fan base who loves his artwork. Please tell him to press the UNdelete button. There are a lot of nice sounding people who register, but never post. Wish they wouldn't be so shy. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM THEM! PAUL FANS ROCK!!!

I had a few laughing grains of sand ... I watched over them ... Held them carefully .. Counted them many times Each day ... Chose them sparingly at times that the world Needed a lift ... I used them less and less to save What precious few I could hold on to... Did the wind blow one away? Did it fall to the floor? All laughing moments had to be Calculated The seriousness of the sad times had to go On long ... For now the grains Had to be held tighter Rarely used As if I had no grains of sand to share.... And now I had one grain ... One laugh As I walked quietly along ... Deep in thought I found myself at the beach.... The Beach?! Sand and water and water and sand and sand!! Oh why was I ever so sparse with laughter? With smiles? And holding on tight to the last grains I knew... Until I knew so many grains ... Of sand...............

I found an old animation program that does not have many features ... so I have done a few animations for the fun of it. They take a lot of time and work and are very limited as to what can be done and the ease of it being done.

There was this guy counting 1,3,5,7,9,...
Some thought that he was odd.

A friend was bummed out the other day when I saw him the other day. Why are you so sad? I asked. Friend: I just found out I was color blind. Man that news just came out of the green.

True thing I heard on the radio today. Substitution will be used here.
A pen is moaning and complaining how pens are not being noticed as much as pencils. The pen goes on and on how pencils are bad, how pencils need to be open minded and watch pens, for pencils to stop doing anything so pens can do better. The pen talked about how the pencils should look at pens so that all can make their mark.
The interviewer was a pencil and was really chumming up to the pen. Totally agreeing. Trying to convince the audience to do the same. The pencil asked softball (easy) questions.
Then the pencil pointed out how the pencils created things for a project.
The pen replied, "Who cares what pencils do."
Open mind? All working and drawing together? All seeing what the other is doing?

Are you trying to speak a new language?

There is a strong possibility I will be doing a tour of Europe on a tour bus. There may be a few times of straying from the group or a side trip ( all it's at this time).
Joke: I wanted to know which restroom to use if in a bar or restaurant.
I thought that i could not learn a new language - as in teaching an old dog new tricks - the dog being me of course.
I surprised myself that I did a few or more levels of language.
I have not done very much in speaking. Sometimes my language is done at work (breaks and lunch. I don't speak and I use ear buds). So I can't say I can speak anything in another language that could be understood.
That would be challenging and I don't know if I would be confident to use it. (Not counting the words of greetings and thank yous that i may have heard or used for years).
Then they buzz through a sentence and i can't pick out more than 2 words.
It's different for me...
* the words I meant for the previous thread ** because it showed up as a French web page - the link.
I tried to say: welcome. Easy as pie. (*a joke it is not)... take care.

Sometimes it just feels so good to put a thought in writing...

A gold fish is in a bowl going around and around and around. One day he says, "Thank God it is Friday!" and then he goes around and around and around ....

A butterfly half way around the world knows that I will buy flowers that attract their senses...
the butterfly begins its journey,
I water the flowers and make sure that they are okay...
One day as I am outside working or relaxing; the butterfly finds the flower, stops: lands and then continues on its way ....

I don't know exactly what this thread is about, but it does offer a certain whimsical, creative, even poetic flavor.
I always wondered if "The Fool" is a man or a woman. Which is it, Fool ? I lean towards male, since the fool on the hill is. Should I delete that? Is it offensive? I'm sorry, if so. It's just that I can't seem to be able to tell, from your posts.
I read some things online trying to figure out exactly what "non-binary" means as an expression to determine or describe one's gender and whoa, nelly !--Almost got a migraine from trying to understand all the various terms that go off in all manner of bewildering directions. Lots of different terms beyond "non-binary." I used to think maybe some of this "gender fluid" terminology derives from young people wanting to freak out the old, their elders; but perhaps that nebulous suspicion is offensive, hints of disapproval? And should be deleted ? I didn't mean to sound bigoted. I'm the opposite and seek to be understanding, sympathetic and supportive. I'm broad minded and a free thinker. The preacher at the church I was raised in recently put in one of his newsletters that its church members shouldn't be "expressively creative" (not the exact phrase, but you catch my drift), that they should only expound Christian doctrines and believe those totally, with no room for original interpretations or other religious leanings--and I felt that was directed at me, for touching on Eastern philosophy in certain of my facebook musings. (You're not supposed to have your own mind and perspectives?) Because I've been openly shamed (but not named) for that in several of his sermons. And once indirectly called out in a prayer meeting by a previous pastor there. I wish they would not read my facebook page at all. These Southern Baptist ministers can't seem to bear anything that even lightly smacks of "New Age"-- but it's not like the Bible lacks all vestiges of mystical, mysterious, magical events and outlandish terms of expression ! Maybe I should delete all this as it's controversial in my bucolic region.

I have no idea what this thread is all about either!
Your description of the church you were raised in is the exact opposite of what I was raised in, thankfully. It was Congregationalist. Later I was Methodist which was pretty close. I really don't like organized religion and can't remember the last time I went to church. Probably in the '90s. If you still go to that church after all the "shaming" you must be a glutton for punishment - I would change to a more liberal church asap!
-
That's funny, Nancy--there are no liberal churches where I am ! Deep in the Bible Belt. The United Methodist Churches are, as you implied, perhaps somewhat more yielding. A bit more open minded. I went to a Unitarian church in White Plains, N.Y. when I lived there, several times. There was never a mention of God or Jesus at all. From one extreme to the other.
I find yoga ashrams and Zen Buddhist centers much more simpatico. Places for meditation. That kind of thing.
I kept going to that Baptist church and powered through it because I found it ridiculous that a person can't have their own particular individual interests. We have freedom of speech and thought in the U.S., so I just ignored it.
But now, with the lockdown, and away from it all I'm wondering if maybe you really are supposed to believe everything a church espouses, where you're a member. I always realized I didn't fit in there very well. I don't even believe in a literal Devil, that Satan exists, or that an eternal Hell does.
-
I live in the South too, but near Atlanta which is more liberal.
