Couple more bits:
Mom and Pop America is officially dead It starved to death at Wal-Mart As all The Barons were being fed It would have been much kinder And spared US such misery To have gone behind the Whorehouse And just shot it in the head
Miserable Miserly Ribald clown; smile my frown Don't let it bring you down Gilded crown; beggared town Don't let it mar your renown Flaccid fool; tarnished tool Gold always makes you drool Rancid rules; starving ghouls Niggardly miserable miserly Yule Fetid reek; puerile shrieks Come on in and have a peek Eat the meek; Circus Freaks Hit the stem and get a geek
Choices Are you evil, or are you good? Do you struggle with both? Do you think you should? Do you wander, or are you lost? Have you found the weapon? Stop the holocaust?
Lost Maybe Found Behold the chiaroscuro Of night and light intaglioed Upon the fabric of my soul Be sure to judge me by my goals Revealed and reviled Denounced and defiled I bite the hand of Greed One wheel tracking; thousands are mired Gravy Train Conductor is tired Weary, leery, teary and wired
March of the Maggots Maggots march down Wall Street, Eyes as hard as stones. Concrete and asphalt wasteland, Brick and mortar bones. Don't care about your children, Don't care about your old, Don't care about you, But that's nothing new; They're getting lots of Gold! Don't want a revolution, Can't stand blood and gore. Work within your institution, And do your massas' chores. Don't care about your children, Don't care about your old, Don't care about you, But that's nothing new; They're getting lots of Gold! Maggots march down Wall Street, A fetid stench of rot. Whitehouse open for business; Just bring all you've got!

My latest work -Love- My heart is pacing, he's coming my way. He looks at me and the whole world stops, he says hi, I say hi he walks past. I look behind, how he walks with grace. I guess this is called love.

JUST LOOKING 4 SOMEONE TO DANCE WITH I long to dance across the Starry Night Across the sulfur stars and indigo blue?. A dream of van Gogh plays across my mind?. Where are you? I long to dance across the Starry Night?.with you?. http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq52/Happy_Traveller/Favorite%20Photos/VanGogh-starry_night.jpg van Gogh is one of my favorite artists....I love how he uses the thick globs of paint....especially in his night time paintings....I love the stars....thick yellow globs of paint. I wrote this after visiting one of his exhibits...
That's very beautiful love2travel, "We would dance Light up the sky" as Paul puts in one of his Fireman songs.. the painting has got movement, swirls of paint and the act of creating must have been very energetic by Van Goth which comes across... I also like the idea you've done a poem based on one of Van Goth's paintings....very creative.. Kevin.

Hey Kevin, Thanks so much for "getting it"... I could stare at those paintings for hours... yes the energy... I'm drawn to that in paintings.... I see such beauty in paintings and lots of things people miss, I think anyway.... and also lyrics... That poem is on my Match.com but no one has "seen" it. lol Have a few others inspired by photos or paintings, maybe I should post them. Looking forward to seeing more paintings of yours

Harber life I call with strife coolant grean on every scene so I surrender.
-
Dark Days As the old year wanes, rusty weather vanes Creak, strive and struggle to have their say. Dark days get colder, my old soul grows older And it is already older than days.
-
Altanon I really love this poem...
-
Thanks! Yeah, I like to think I cough-up a good one every now and then.

Peacenik Peacenik was the hippy girl Holding the sign she did unfurl Joining, she took up the chant ?Make Love Not War? ?Give Peace a Chance? ?Hell No We Won?t Go? ?Hey Hey LBJ, How Many Kids Did You Kill Today?? A thousand people in the street Singing songs and carrying signs... For the peacenik girl, those were the times A brotherhood of man Hands Across America Time to make a stand Tricky Dicky was alarmed Had FBI stake out the farms Peace had the government all frightened For they were really not enlightened Peacenik girl is now a woman Still prays for Peace and all men?s Freedom Time to focus on the child And a world on which all smiled
and all people kind smiled...

An ode to spring and this happiness thing things to breath out and breath in.

FREEDOM Claymore's sparkle on a mud-drenched hillside Brave men stand together Waiting for the battle cry They will all march down together. Fighting for a nation's freedom Fighting heart and soul Blades are clashing to the skies Against their dreaded foes. As the sound of silence fills the land Dead men everywhere Moans of wounded on the battlefield A nations story told.

It was barely a compliment! No, it's good. Is this about Culloden or any particular battle, or is it non-specific? (feel free not to tell me, and let me interpret it for myself)

I wrote it one night after watching Braveheart, was in a patriotic mood at the time.

Yes... so clearly it was written about my relative William... Love the part where he screams 'FREEEEDOM" lol glad they skipped the visuals after that part... So I really enjoyed your contribution Macsback and hope to see more of you in this thread Great poem...
