The Knocking: The knocking on my door Sounds stranger than before Loud bangs and scratches Give me chills Lit candle in hand Barefoot I walk to the door, Heavy odor of roses Seem to be coming from the other side Sweeter than before. My hand on the key This time of night who could it be? Oh, but the cloaked figure I see! Holding a golden lantern His name is Death And he is coming for me! My white linen gown is wet Frigid water drips from the lace hem to the floor Don't open the door! Tired and hollow as I feel To kiss Death's lips Hasten my departure with Life My fate will be sealed. Justice I called upon For balance and mercy To save my soul Yet none was received, My sleepless nights in bed My scratchy eyes, my aching head Death please stop knocking upon my door! With your rosey perfume To trick one to turn the key Cover my head Curl up in bed Yet, I still hear the thunder at my door. (this came to me for no reason...just a poem.)

with no reason? (((((hey_kittay))))) You wrote this beautifully and very recognizable for me. I opened the door twice, but he still didn't take me. He's just knocking.

Well it is really interesting and funny now how that poem 'came to me.' I have been stressed out lately and the other night I was trying to sleep. I had been thinking about all kinds of things, including the fact one of my dogs was asleep at the front door. He likes it there. So, I must have dozed off for a few unrestful minutes and when I awoke suddenly, I had a headache, like a thunping in my head. And it was like I could see in my thoughts this dream I was in, while awake, that someone was knocking on the door and it was Death. I was, in my 'dream' living alone in a cottage in a forest, like back in the middle ages or something. It was so vivid, I HAD to write what I was experiencing down, and there it was! I posted it on this thread, felt better. Then I took an aspirin, patted my dog on the head for guarding the door, and went to sleep. No more nightmares that night...isn't it interesting and wild how things can be created in one's mind and it seems so real?

Sorry to hear that your were stressed hey_kittay............just put on one of Paul's albums...it works for me! ............. I can hear everything in Paul's music, sadness and hope and gives me the belief that the world is good and there is so much love in it.... above all the music gives me hope... glad you felt better for writing it down..it can help....sharing it with us... dreams are usually associted with your previous days experiences..(sorry, I've gone all Freud..) um.... people have tried throughout the ages to represent death..maybe esp in the middle ages with the terrible plague the black death....but I'm sure that is still in our subconscious minds......keep writing you're very good at it... hope you feel better...kevin...

Very, very nice. I also agree that it would also make a great song. For Paul perhaps? Wait! There's someone knocking at my door! "just kidding" Looking forward to reading another one from you.

                      My love does it good♥
