Pre-sale thread: Miami / Tampa / Duluth / Syracuse

Wanted 4 seats together for Miami, but ended up getting two separate pairs. Whatever. And I ended up having to go through Amex because the fan club sale was pretty worthless. The fan sale is OK if you're willing to shell out for the VIP packages but for those of us who could only afford $250 a ticket the seats offered were pretty sad. I knew it would suck as soon as I realized the fan sale was going to be on Ticketmaster this time rather than through Songkick/crowdsurge.
Funny how some people have problems with TM, but I never have. Got great seats for Paul in 2013 and 2014 through them. I bypassed Paul's site and went straight to them those 2 years.
I'd like to know what you consider 'great' seats. And I'm not counting VIP packages sold through Ticketmaster. I only mean regular $250+fees seats. When Paul played Amway Center in Orlando in 2013, I paid $250 a ticket via the site sale on Crowdsurge and got Floor 1, row B, for both shows. That's 2nd row in the front floor. No chance in hell of ever pulling seats like that on Ticketmaster at regular price without going through VIP Package.

Agree the fan presale was a bust but thank goodness for Amex. I haven't been great about keeping up with the "rumors" of late so when I woke up this morning to an email time stamped 2:30 am announcing Miami, I was shocked. Further shocked to see the presale was today. As I mentioned earlier, this is number 6 for me, which I realize still puts me far behind many others - but seeing him once was a dream come true so for number 6, I didn't feel the need to shell out thousands. Went modest and got lower level seats but I'm bringing my family with me. All in all I'm happy - again, considering 24 hours ago I didn't even know Miami was on his radar!
Congrats! As you've said, it's all in the quality- not the quantity. I've got my 13th show, and hopefully my 14th with MSG on the way. I've been in the LAST row of the biggest football stadium in the country (at the time) for $30 and I've been in the tenth row with a gold package and everywhere in between. I cherish every concert infinitely and looking back, it never has much to do with where my seat is...it's about the music, the stories, the adventure, and all these friends and lovers I've had the pleasure of sharing them with over the years. I've seen parts of the country I never would have seen otherwise and have lifelong memories to cherish. Moral of the story to anyone on the fence: Buy the damn tickets.
Well said!

I'm baffled by how tickets are sold these days. I did the fan presale yesterday and after a few tries I got 5th row floor seats at the regular ticket price. Last year I bought tickets for the Hershey show just weeks before the show, I seasrched best available and I also got 5t row from Ticketmaster, not resale tickets either. Regular price. They must release unsold VIP packages I guess. I do get frustrated by the whole reseller thing.

Could I ask that when people talk about scoring tickets they mention the venue or city. It would be helpful to others.

My apologies, I am going to Syracuse, Carrier Dome. I haven't been to a concert there since the 90's! The map on Ticketmaster was a seating Map from 2015, I'm assuming the layout will be similar.

Sorry, mine were both Hot Sound Package. But in 2002 we got regular seats on TM for Paul and they were on the floor in the 2nd section back on the side, but nearer to the middle. I'm guessing about Row 25 or so. First time I was that close! (Paid around $250 for each)

Love your post, so well put!!

Trying for the venue presale this morning and after you enter your access code they put you in a waiting room. I assume that at 1000 they open some kind of 'door' and let us out to buy our tickets!!! This is just the weirdest thing I've ever seen!

Doesn't seem the Syracuse presale code for Patrons is working.
-
I've never experienced anything remotely like this. STILL waiting in line at almost 1030!

SUCCESS! Finally pulled a great ticket for Duluth! Floor 3, Row P, Seat 11!!! I had to get out of that line and go back in to the presale and it kept giving me seats in Floor 7, 4 & 9 but I wanted closer. Always a risk but I am THRILLED with the ticket! Worth all the stress and craziness in the end.

Congratulations. but once again it is useful if you say which venue, presale etc.

The venue pre-sale for Syracuse ("PATRONS") has many decent tickets in the 100 sections.

Are you using 1ON1? They changed the code for Duluth to that from PAUL1ON1USA. The only way I knew was that I got an email from the Infinite Energy Arena which I forwarded to tiggywinkle or she would have been clueless! Such a clusterf@*k!!
