Much better now.
You think good enough to be something you'd put some overlays on? I just was looking at the lyrics and changing them at this point is not working like I expected.. I could always try to get a better version of it but I'd almost like to move on to something else. I'd be very interested to hear what you do to it. with this White Album meets Alice In Chains style track . you so 'get' my influences it seems. That assessment is quite spot on.
I'd like to see if I can add anything to "Run." I'm getting my "recording bug" back. I'm going to be doing a LOT of recording in the coming days. I've produced enough Sur Rod tracks. He's gonna have to fly on his own now.
Is audi finally back singer/songwriter style? Do you think this break-up is going to take? I was sure you guys were going to back slide as they say. hey if it happens its for the best. thats what I always say. You certainly were INTEGRAL is sending Rod up the Reverb charts. You did a bunch of good work there. let the recording begin! hey audi (and everyone), do you think the harmony line I sing on this song at about 1:52, do you think it works for the song? It could obviously be sung better, but should the idea be dropped, or perhaps used more in the song?? I like it as a change, the producer we worked with wasn't sure it added anything. made me question everything about his taste in music my opinion is that it makes the song more interesting. but I'm a dork like that

I can't think of a better example of an authentic punk-harmony.

Thank you very, very much for saying that.

Love your new track Kapoo! Really sounds great and I can't wait to hear what Audi can add to it! And I also agree that Audi is/was a MASSIVE part of Rod's sound!
-
(In my best Beavis/butthead voice) "Heh-heh...he said "massive." (giggity) Hmmmm...I like the sound of "Audi" and "massive" in the same sentence.

I can't imagine you hear it much. Unless the sentence starts with 'Audi is a' followed by the word 'massive' which is in turn followed by the word 'tw*t'

I was just joking around! Stoopid English sense of humour! Ah Audi, you're the best black guy on the forum (perhaps a poll is needed to confirm this?)

I agree, I mean lets be honest... okay I won't be that honest lets just say without a rhythm section a band is screwed thanks for the vote for the punk harmony too audi! someone who knows what he's talking about given that you're planning on breaking out your originals again! any tinkering on my loony bin track should absolutely wait. no worries there. Saturday night btw, I'm hoping to get a perfect instrumental track done of Something I Can't Explain. This is going to be my overall phase 2 of music making, to redo them all with meticulous care and attention to detail. I just am way too OCD and like creating and freestyling too much... but I'll be trapped in my basement for like 6 hours that night (don't ask, don't worry ), and I'm going to start the search for perfection on SICE. I just built it up way too much .. you'll still hear the Air Conditioner clear as day! hopefully it doesn't turn into 6 hours of freestyling although thats given us 3 straight; Surrounded, Come And Go and Run! We are all actually binge-ing on writing songs right now. for me this is a ton of production, after retiring (like Lennon) for 5 years (2005 - 2010) and getting settled back into it. scary that Darth and illwobble have both been keeping up too! and more setting the pace for most of the time! Darth are you still working on the Metaphiz? you should do what I do man, just lay the whole thing down on acoustic guitar and post it its quicker tho!

Yeah it's all finished and everything. I may just do that and then tinker with it after. Its good to see we're all so active with our songwriting again!

A few days ago, I compiled a list of all the songs I've written/partially written that need to be recorded. I've got work to do. Especially with my plans to do Writer's Nights, etc.

Has there never been another confirmd African sighting on these boards? thats a shame if its the case, black people would be missing out. That would be a good poll, 'are you black?' we'll find out who's out there! thats discriminatory in some way though isn't it? nice audi, thats enough songs for a hardass album!! these days you can go 10 songs I'd say. I mean the more the better, but 10 songs is fine, especially if they're good does that 14 number include the songs we've heard like Autumn and Hello? I remember at one time you had about 6-7 originals posted. ah the glory days btw I mentioned my 6hr recording on Sat night. I forgot about Hi Hi Hi! I'll definitely get us the rhythm guitar part. to me that songs a lot of pressure to get right, cause I love it so much and its actually a bit complicated in the arrangement, for me anyway. and I need to get in the same 'feel' Paul was in when he recorded it. He's the best at that up tempo 'bum buhbum buhbum' bassline feel.. bouncy. I'm going to do that first! then we can all add to it if you guys want?

Yo, thought you guys might get a kick out of this, I just recorded one attempt at the track for Lemonade Suicide, and I ended up feeling this older poem I had written, instead of the concept of LS, so I basically just read the old poem over the track, and flowed it and changed some bits and worked out a droning style melody. still working on this one but you know I'm always happy to share any old thing Run
Dark and trippy! At times, it's like listening to an Alice In Chains track and The White Album at the same time. Vocal needs to be louder, though. Are you going to re-do it? I'd like to play on this one, if I may.
you know whats funny man, I actually have a louder vocal mix of this! I was listening to them both just now and am realizing I posted the quieter one.., I'll post the louder one later. This track has potential, I want to re-do it, and of course would be honored to have your playing on any of my tracks! I'm imagining that could work out quite well on this jam Notice I do a little Lennon 'It's so Hard' type guitar riff at about 1:44. the songs actually in the same beat as Its So Hard, but wasn't intentional. subconscious inspiration I bet. anyway I want to basically showcase that riff more throughout the song, on top of the power chords I have. I think that will make it better. I've been looking at it and noticing there's really only a few words to change to spin the song really happy, and into like an all for one, unity type of a bit. I'm thinking of doing that for my next take. the song and poem were really personal, and it would be cool to me if I could literally spin this sucker POP! which is always a great idea anyway. if I can pull it off.. When I get a good one done I will let you know! I have a song called 'Run', Beyonce's is 'Run The World'. not a bad pair. Run. run what? The World beyatches! Bohemian Rhapsody smokes them both though. completely different level.
Here's Run again, louder vocal mix.
Can you email me the chords, sir?

the whole song is mainly G (3rd Fret bar styles) and C (3rd fret bar), with a little occasional move up to D (5th fret bar), and back down to C on 3rd. the middle part is just - F (1st fret bar), G (3rd Fret bar) Its funny cause I actually don't know what I was playing, it could be everything I just said up 1 fret G#/C#/D# and F#/G#. ..or even up two frets, but pretty sure I didn't start the song of the 5th. if memory serves it begins on the 3rd fret bar G. you want me to go and make sure of the chords tonight or are you good to go with this info?
I'm sure that me ol' trusty ears will fill in the gaps.

seriously, you'll have no trouble picking it out btw quick notes on the track, starting at about 1:20, I created a third guitar track, copied a bit of one of the other two guitar parts and changed the sound to something called 'Orion Vocal', which creates that low background like electro sound in there. plus during that same middle section, my 2 yr old comes in yelling something. which also adds to the craziness of that middle section!! here's that original poem I posted here. I just more or less read the first part until it no longer worked with the music, and then repeated it. and then tried to sum up the rest right at the end there http://maccaboard.paulmccartney.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=71604&start=375
