C'mon People live 1993
-
Time is a funny thing. I remember thinking in 1993 that Paul's voice was sounding a bit tired. Now, looking back it sounds downright youthful! Live in Chile!

I'll play it later when I get home from work...but I think this is the version where he completely boned the lyrics of more than half a verse...and probably no one there in the audience even noticed given how he covered it up

Yeah, it is that version where he forgets the lyrics. It happens at the 1:15 mark.

It is! He did a John Lennon and just sang some "sounds" until he could find his way back to the song! A pro he is! Ha!

I love the version of "Don't Let Me Down" from the rooftop where John forgets the lyrics for a couple of lines, and you see Ringo laughing in the background.

Exactly! There is also a live TV show of the Beatles in 1965 and on Help! John does the same thing. I think it is cool, shows it is live and a great way to deal with forgetting words, rather than stumbling and stalling.

...and sadly, that was Linda's last concert.

Yes. True.

John gets all the credit for forgetting lyrics, but Paul was just as good at it.

You mean that tiny bit where he is singing along silently with John? There are plenty of examples in recent years where he is singing one of his own songs where he screws up! Most famously he gets John's part of "A Day In The Life" correct and then messes up on the part he wrote and sings!

I just noticed on the youtube clip it was on my bday too. Really good quality clip though, does the full show exist?

I don't remember the DVD for the New Worls Tour being so clear.

To my memory both professional releases of the 1989/1990 and 1993 tour were flat and not too clear. Shame.

He flubs the chorus in the beginning.

Oh, I see. He wasn't sure whether to sing "lost" or "not." So he just stopped singing!

Strangely appropriate that the next line he managed to get out was "believe it when you see it happening to you, you know it's real."
