I just sent my mixes of Hope Of Deliverance to you guys via email.
Wow, those are quite something!! It's a really nice sound, especially with the second mix. I have to say, on first listen I was slightly freaked out by that very first "HOPING"! Is that just your voice overdubbed or is mine distorted as well? I love the percussion and all the overdubbed instrumental bits, your backing vocals are great, and you've nailed the ending. Thanks, man! Is it ok for me to upload this somewhere? How should I credit you if so?

I supplemented your lead vocal only in certain parts -- actually tried to sound like you. The first track I worked on for kapoo, I ended up obscuring his vocal completely. So, I didn't want that to happen. And, of course, feel free to post anywhere, anyhow. "illwobble & audi" works for me.

Here's penguin with a few of my additions:
Thanks Josh! Very nice. Nice just to have it up on YouTube with a penguin pic, which I tried to do but failed a few months ago. Nice additions, although I'll have to listen a few more times and give more feedback later. Really good to have your input on the song! Looking forward to hearing your HoD, audi!
Thanks, I could only really add vocal kinda stuff cos a lot of my recording gear has been packed away since I went to uni. But i did the best with what I had and I think it turned out good. Of course it wouldn't have been possible without this awesome song to work on!
Damn, hell yes! I like that. Nice creativity on the vocals Darth, not to mention basically perfect tonal qualities! gotta love good tonal qualities, I?m envious of those who got it well played, nice song. I?ll listen to that a bunch more times Its occurring to me again, Magnus?s guitar part on that is nice! I just love the bass notes etc.
I totally know why I loved this song illwobble ! its absolutely classic, just solid melody, solid flow. Josh you?re ooo la la la vocal part on that first verse is sweet!, I love that dooo wa la la.. easily run, that?s a great line. Its weird you can only really use the doo wa lal la bit in that one spot in the song cause the end is a touch slower as it sort of builds so it really wouldn?t work (your backing vox there are sweet too), and then you only have the whistle solo where you could use it again, backing the whistle! how great would that be Not withstanding it being a questionable creative choice, would it be hard for you to add the vocal bit to the solo section? Could you just copy/paste the sucker?? I so want to get good at doing that stuff.
I'm really loving the instrumental overdubs over my whistling. What is that? Just guitar? Perfect! I'm not sure about adding vocals over that, as it is great as it is, but you could try of course! I really love some of the vocal parts, the "easily" and "we won't fall" bits are spot on, and the chorus is great too. Maybe I'd have you not coming in quite so early in the first verse, but that's a minor quibble. Thanks again Josh, and for your compliments also! This is fun!! Two great Christmas presents I've had today.

Josh kicked ass, as usual.

Naked version here:That delicate electric guitar is quite sweet, very tastefully placed. I would imagine it being a tough sound to mesh with what illwobs had, and you totally made it work. That?s cool. That version has a cool vibe. Also audi, I like the bass line during the chorus, nice runs through the hope of deliverance.. hope of deliverance.. parts. Did I mention nice harmonies? illwobble, you actually sang that well too! You two made a good team. that 'audiDarthWobble band' appears to be for real actually 'audiDarthMagnusWobble Band'. tight tight tight good stuff gents.
You're part of this, too, bro! You're the best writer among us!

Well I am definitely loving being part of the music making experience on this board! Thanks for reminding me and if we can ever hone something down well enough to ?go viral?, we?re all going big together!! if I have anything to say about it.
I think at least two or three of us need to play a collectively written original and a Paulie song together...as in: In the same room...one of these days.

I'm really loving the instrumental overdubs over my whistling. What is that? Just guitar? Perfect!
Thanks. I tried a guitar part there but it sounded too obvious and plain. So in the end and after much messing I scrapped the guitar idea and settled on using a double tracked ukelele with one of the tracks pitched up an octave

Cool! Hence, our bro-mance!

Is it too late for us to get an Paul McCartney forum award for the best bromance? And I'm always trying out different things with instruments. It's cool to experiment and get them to sound completely different to how they're supposed to! It's all part of the magic!

Do you think I could tempt either of you two lovebirds to try some overdubbing of my "Lovers Once" song?
I think it could improve it quite a bit. Grasshopper could definitely benefit from it too, as I wrote it with backing vocals in it from the start. I have two takes of it: Take 2 is much better in terms of both the main vocal and Magnus's guitar, but in take 2 Magnus is attempting the backing vocal but not quite pulling it off, so I may need to get together with him again and record another version without his backing vocal before you can do anything with it. -

I think it could improve it quite a bit. ...Anyone ever tell ya' that you sound like Tom Petty? I can add it to my list. How 'bout I do some percussion, and Darthy will do the vocals?
