TOTALLY UNEXPECTED songs/moments @ McCartney concerts
-
good update...
-
here I come with the most unexpected of them all Sgt Pepper's Being for the benefit or Mr. Kite!
I loved the opening with 8 days a week, it's not impossible that she "unleashes" She Loves You and I Want To Hold Your Hand -
adding it...

Predictions for Vegas, anyone? Japan?

What about "Petrushka," that was unexpected
-
"Predictions" for "Japan"--Japan and the whole Far East seem so exotic to Westerners...he could use Japan as the chance to come out with various unexpected aural treats from his oeuvre previously not done at his concerts, or does that thought not make much sense. They seem to embrace all manner of oddities in their culture and love novelty and innovation, the other side of the coin of their reverence for tradition...they'd love anything and everything he gives them. You think? He could trot out "Soily" or "Monkberry Moon Delight" "Temporary Secretary" and different things from "EA" and such. As a one shot deal just for Japan, to drive many of us hardcore Macca fans up the wall wishing we'd been there
-
I was utterly shocked when Paul opened his iHeartRadio set with "Magical Mystery Tour." There was no need for it. "Save Us" would've been perfect, instead. Still, it's worth noting that Paul did only two Beatles songs -- and ended his set with a Wings-era song!
-
But it was 2 Beatles out of 8. Now if he only did 2 out of 25...now that would be something!
-
Let's not get greedy now.
-
Reach for the stars!
-
Has anybody added when Paul performed "Long Tall Sally" at Seattle back in July? That *definitely* counts as an unexpected moment!
-
Agreed!

A comprehensive list of songs that would've been unexpected to a reasonably informed McCartney fan at the time of the performance. ...and surprises, as well.

Sure...and while you're at it, I'd say that while Can't Buy Me Love has been a common inclusion from time to time, this unique skiffle version warrants an 'unexpected/surprise' mention

Forgot about that one! You mean the version that was 100% re-arranged?

Absolutely
