Hi Susy
SusyLuvsPaul:
"Flickering and Unsteady" I can relate to that title, hee hee. It's a great song too.
hehe, thank you very much
SusyLuvsPaul:
I want to hear your "Bluebird" can you place the URL to that here again, was looking for it but didnt come across it ...
certainly here you go -
SusyLuvsPaul:
"All On You," reminds me of a George Harrison song, his style (which ain't too shabby )
hehe, thank you very much what a great compliment that is
SusyLuvsPaul:
I fancy its anti-drug theme too. Very much so. You convey a sense, a strong feeling of not harming oneself with chemicals, of living a clean healthy lifestyle. And not destroying the environment.
hmm interesting that you got an 'anti-drug' message out of that set of lines hehe 'dump the chemicals in the seas, then you wonder how come there's so much disease' is just directly referring to chemical pollution of the ocean by industry which in turn causes harm to living beings going back to humans as well but it's good that you saw another aspect as well that wasn't directly meant
SusyLuvsPaul:
Your voice sounds reproving, admonishing but not in an overdone too-preachy manner. The song and your singing on it sound kind of sophisticated too. Cultured.
hehe, aww *blush* thank you very much you are too sweet be sure to send in your weekly vote also for 'all on you' and the other songs to indigenoustt@gmail.com
SusyLuvsPaul:
Why did you move to Trinidad from Canada? Do you love it there and why?
my parents are Trinidadians. they were just in Canada at the time due to my father's job so i was born there, but back to Trinidad by the end of 1979. i dont 'love' it here, but the climate is good for me everywhere in the material world there are problems, issues, etc. that is just the nature of the material world. so Trinidad is no exception
SusyLuvsPaul:
Will certainly listen to your stuff again more Saturday when I get the chance, am becoming a fan
thank you very much
SusyLuvsPaul:
Those photo montages of you playing all the instruments in the same shot are quite clever and striking.
glad you think so
SusyLuvsPaul:
Your music sounds quite professional and well done,
thank you very much
SusyLuvsPaul:
well, you did say you'd been into it since a very early age and had grown up influenced by your parents' 60's and 70's records,
that's right
SusyLuvsPaul:
more so than the 80's music probably (perhaps you should be glad of that ).
hehe, well i am influenced by and love a lot of 80s too, having grown up in that period but yes, the influence of the 60s/70s is the more prominent one on my music thank you very much Susy for checking me out and for enjoying and stay tuned

Hey Rahil, do you tour at all? are there venues, bars, etc in Trinidad and the surrounding parts to play in if you wanted to?
hey kapoo i haven't 'toured' per se, but since 1998 to now, i've played many live gigs, yes yes, all such places exist locally you can see a list on my site http://rahil.iscool.net in the 'news' section of most of the places i've played in the past (and on this thread, you'd see the reports of anything i've played live this year - at the moment, not as many gigs as in the past, but this year brought some higher publicity ones, not to mention higher-paying ) thank you for asking --- sorry Susy about 'bluebird'.. hope you can get through another time

World Environment Day is today, June 5th. go vegan now, it's one of the basic steps in caring for the environment.. go vegan, go green, save the world.. for the sake of the planet, the animals, all beings, and yourselves.. thank you for keeping 'all on you' @ #1 in honour of this hehe
Rahil Babooram - vocals, guitars, bass, drums, tambourine, keyboard "All on you" by Rahil Babooram (2007-04-17) 1. take a walk any day do you still see much green on your way? throw your garbage anywhere, apparently the effects don't seem to scare. burn your trash, fill the air, you don't care a thing about the atmosphere.. chorus: the birds in the trees know how to behave, so why can't we just take pattern? the shame is all on you.. what goes around comes around, when it's all gone, what will we do? the blame is only on you.. 2. you complain about the drains, yet you are the one who causes all these pains. dump the chemicals in the seas, then you wonder how come there's so much disease. "oh the place is getting so hot", in spite of this, you are really doing what? repeat chorus 3. you can put blame on the government, but a lot is due to your own abandonment. scream and shout 'bout aluminium smelter, but daily you degrade your own shelter. apart from becoming unhealthier, paid to destroy your home doesn't make you any wealthier. 4. the rain forests give so much life, but you clear them away to give animals death and strife. the soya you feed the sentenced cows should be used instead to feed countless hungry mouths. i can only really sing so much, but it's up to us to act and not just watch.. repeat chorus x 3 2007 Rahil Babooram Music, COTT _________________ thank you ♪ -

SusyLuvsPaul:
on a library computer kapoo cool lyrics, rahil
I actually like libraries, though I haven't been in one in a long time.. its a very peaceful environment, and your surrounded by information, its wild. as a kid, I'm talking 5-6 yrs old, my baby sitter used to take me to the library all the time, and I loved it. I remember the feeling of peace and wonderment clearly. I actually think they were somewhat informative events in my childhood, going to the library so often. and instilled and nurtured a respect I have today for the value of information, creativity, and quiet time with my thoughts. damn I'm deep yes very nice set of lyrics Rahil!

Did you have a beard before, Rahil? Looked like you did, on one of your albums. You certainly have rock star looks You're the "whole package" as they say, can sing, write songs, play instruments, have an outstanding great look, and deep emotions, etc. How do you resist wanting to be on one of the beautiful Trinidad beaches all the time? Where do you find most of your inspiration for your songs? Could you print more of your song lyrics here? Are you a big fish in a little pond in Trinidad, is your musical artistic influence felt over many other parts of the Carribbean islands, shall you be the first big music star from there? What's going on with that? Hope all your dreams come true for you.

hi Susy
SusyLuvsPaul:
Did you have a beard before, Rahil? Looked like you did, on one of your albums.
hehe, yes, at times in the past i kept one as you would have seen in various photos from the past. last time was in 2006 (as in the photo on the top left of 'Cuatro' album cover - [img]https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/580576_571172006261061_344257187_n.jpg))
SusyLuvsPaul:
You certainly have rock star looks You're the "whole package" as they say, can sing, write songs, play instruments, have an outstanding great look, and deep emotions, etc.
hehe, aww, thank you very much for appreciating and for the compliments
SusyLuvsPaul:
How do you resist wanting to be on one of the beautiful Trinidad beaches all the time?
who says i resist?
SusyLuvsPaul:
Where do you find most of your inspiration for your songs?
i am inspired from spirituality (Krsna-consciouness), veganism (anti-murder-of-animals, the environment), to relationships/lust/love and social issues.
SusyLuvsPaul:
Could you print more of your song lyrics here?
certainly i will you request which songs' lyrics you'd like to see and i'll post thank you for your interest
SusyLuvsPaul:
Are you a big fish in a little pond in Trinidad,
hehe more like an orange among apples
SusyLuvsPaul:
is your musical artistic influence felt over many other parts of the Caribbean islands,
not just yet
SusyLuvsPaul:
shall you be the first big music star from there? What's going on with that?
i won't be 'the first big music star from here' as there are others who have already put Trinidad on the world map musically, but those artistes are mostly non-rock artistes (calypso, soca, etc.). there are a couple rock groups who have had the privilege of touring overseas and making a name for themselves that way, but still, in the scheme of things, the island is not recognized for the 'rock music content' (as much as it should be). this is also reflected on the radio stations' airplay format where if rock/pop is aired it is usually US chart music versus local (not that there is any shortage of local, but just a lot of politics which is currently being fought by certain groups to gain a 50% quota of local content for all arts/media). of course 'the show must go on' and this is just who i am - singer/songwriter/musician, so regardless of the quantity/quality of 'success'/'recognition', etc. (either locally or overseas), i will always be doing this, just as naturally as breathing.. by God's grace of course
SusyLuvsPaul:
Hope all your dreams come true for you.
thank you very much Susy you are too kind and same to you as well and keep sending in your votes also for the weekly charts all the best ♪

SusyLuvsPaul:
Thanks for info Island Boy
hehe, you're welcome Southern Belle
SusyLuvsPaul:
How about lyrics to one or two of your personal favorite love songs you've composed?
certainly, here's 1 of them for starters - 'a love song' (from my 2nd album 'Simply Rahil' done live in 2005 (short of hearing the actual album recording)
lyrics - "A love song" by Rahil Babooram (2004-02-22) 2004 Rahil Babooram Music, COTT "You make me high, you make me fly I don't ever want to be without you You make me sing, you make my heart swing I just want us to cling together. Chorus: I want you here, I want you near, Your voice to hear, Your eyes to stare. I want you in my arms, I want to feel your charm. I want here to be there so that I'm never without you. Can't wait to see you again to kiss your lips, to feel your chin. These hours without you have been torturing. Sweetheart it's love that I'm in. [Chorus] [Guitar solo] [Chorus] Babe I miss you, yes it's true Close my eyes, think about you. I don't know how I'll get to sleep, Girl I love you, you're so sweet. "SusyLuvsPaul:
Yes of course continue with your musical career for you yourself first of all, pleasing and expressing yourself, it's "natural" to you as "breathing" as it is to any true artist

Thank YOU, Mr. Gone Troppo (LOL) Wish I could go troppo...ooooh I can just feel delicious mango juice running down my visage and torso as I'm clad in a brightly colored sarong decorated with flower print, a bikini top, a big tropical Birds of Paradise flower behind one ear, after I bite off a big chunk of mango, my favorite fruit while laid out on the white sandy beach. A cool breeze refreshes everyone. Palm trees sway in the distance against a bright blue sky as the gentle sound of ocean waves calms one's nerves. I'm coming over! (LOL) Lovely song, to whom did you write that?
