Why do animal rights activist pick on fur more then leather? Because it's easier to harrass old ladies and rich suburban girls then it is to harrass bikers

My understanding is that most leather is a byproduct of the food industry whereas fur is primarily obtained from animals who are killed solely for that purpose.

True with cows and maybe Ostrich. (Never took off in the States like they hoped but they do eat them elsewhere) are snakes farmed for food? I know they're eaten

I think they are in China.

China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar. Maybe it's an Asian thing.

When I see fur or leather now I think of all the puppies & dogs & cats & all the beautiful wild creatures in the world being skinned alive for their fur or to make leather. Isn't that a good enough reason? You fault PETA for throwing paint, that just shows me how far they had to go to get their point across. Have you ever even read their reports or seen pictures of the suffering? I can't accept that. Thank God times they are a changing! Thank You Paul McCartney!

I saw a video of a cat being boiled alive so they could tear the fur off easily. Once you've seen something like that, you can't unsee it.

It hurts your mind doesn't it? Its so shameful what people do to helpless animals. Some years back I saw the press coverage of Oprah Winfrey"s visit to a meat slaughter house. I cried when they used a tractor to push a poor half dead cow across the bloody floor, you could see the terror in its eyes & hear the screams coming out of the animal. How can people live with this, especially if your one of them working at the meat packing plant. The least they can do is to humanly keep, transport, & slaughter.
