Paul, Come To Australia
-
Okay, not sure if this counts as news but I got to work today and turned on the radio (which was set on Gold) to hear this: "If you love music and you love Melbourne, then be listening from Monday at 8 for a big - and I mean BIG - announcement." Given that Gold has had a hand in a lot of the latest big acts and that the rumours have been reaching fever pitch lately, could this be the announcement we've all been waiting for?
-
Oooh - that sounds interesting W.D.!!!!!!
-
I hope you are right, but I won't be totally surprised if they announce the reformation of The Spice Girls.... but I do have faith the announcement we are all waiting for will come!
-
Yes, there's always that little kernel of doubt. It's just the combination of the timing and the way he said "big". They don't come much bigger, do they? Thing is, as I work nights, I'm normally not awake at 8AM so I shall be relying on after-the-fact reports. However, I might be so excited that I wake myself up.
-
I have not heard any announcement today in Australia

No, whatever it was, it must have been about something else. Sorry for getting your hopes up, chaps. I so wanted it to be him.
-
may have been Madness added to the 2017 Byron Bay Blues Festival
-
ok so this summer in Oz so far we have the following artists coming: Coldplay Bruce James Taylor Neil Young Barry Gibb Guns n Roses Green Day Jerry Seinfeld Adele And probably some I have forgotten - no doubt Sting to tour after playing AFL GF and releasing new album Once again there is one NOTABLE absentee....
-
moptops:
[..] One more big name announcement imminent...
Aha: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/adele-upgrades-to-stadiums-for-first-australian-tour-w450339

Paul is know for short leadup times for announcements. If we were looking at a February/March/April as is the rumour, what is the latest time we'd expect an announcement?
-
Now add Don Henley to the above list
-
one hopes he can make it to Australia before he completely looses his voice
-
The industry is booming, every indie, arena and stadium act does multiple successful tours on the continent, Live Nation US just bought biggest festivals Falls Festival and Splendour In The Grass. Stop being butthurt about your own mismanagement 15 years ago, MPL, and treat the Australian crowds before it's too late.
-
My faith of another Australian tour is starting to wane. Just a little. Yet I will cling to the possibilities.

Yes, I find myself becoming doubtful again. It's like a bellcurve, really. Complete cynicism -> Hopefulness -> Certainty -> Suspciousness -> Disappointment -> And then back to cynicism again. What made me really think there was something in the rumour was not the Michael Gudinski 'Band on the Run' slip or any of the other clues but Moptops on here. He's been adamant that there was no hope and then suddenly he was certain there would be. I would not expect him to change his tune so quickly if there wasn't something in it.
-
Come on Paul. I'm ready for my first trip to Australia. Do it soon, it's summer there, I've had enough of winter here, and it's not even January.
-
Anyone planning to go to Japan? Since the 2013 McCartney tour there I've totally fallen in love with the place having been four times since, so it's definitely on my radar! Doesn't seem to be any news on Australian shows either so what the hell! At least those shows will happen!
-
so the lucky Japanese are getting a tour for the third or forth time in the last 5 years and no Australian news? This is getting ridiculous that the fans are obviously second place to "the right financial deal" I mean what else can it possibly be? We are ready for Paul before its too late :

It'd be nice to know if he was going to come to Australia...seriously thinking of going to Japan just in case he doesn't come here. Cmon Paul, it's been too long!
