One of my big issues with food especially during the time I couldn't have any animal products without ill effects years and years ago, was going to a dinner or a potluck, being told before hand that yes, vegetables are being served, only to discover (or wonder by the flavor) if they were drenched in chicken broth. I had a friend who told me to look carefully at my food to make sure it had not meaty surprises in it but she wasn't even thinking of that aspect. I've asked people why they cook their vegetables that way and they replied, "For flavor." But it taste like chicken. If I wanted to taste chicken, then I'd eat the frigging chicken. I want to taste vegetables not Cambell's soup. sure enough, this thanksgiving, every vegetable dish was covered either with something from the bird or bathed in chicken broth. I fought (but not too hard because everyone agreed easily) for me bringing a casserole that was vegan just so there was one thing at the table that didn't taste of poultry. Even if you eat chicken, what's the fun of eating a bunch of food that all taste the same? It was met with gracious praises. THey even liked the seaweed I put in saying it tasted so exotic. and there was one vegan thing on that table for a change.

Even in grocery stores, many items that look like tasty veggie dishes list :chicken broth" as an ingredient.

        My lyric video for "New":

In the Simpson's episode, Paul has a line of dialogue about finding a 'big hunk of pork' in frozen veggie meals. WTH?

Going off topic for one second, is that the episode where lisa dissuses animal rights and meets linda and paul at the end? or a different one?? I still haven't watched that episode somehow.... back on topic, its a thing my family does ALL the time. if we ever have roasted vegtables or something like that, its cooked with the meat instead of a separate tray. I argued a lot and I have a special tray just with vegtables alone instead of shareing it with the fleash of a poor animal... but I do admit, when I was not a vegetarian, it made the vegtables taste a little nicer, but not by that much... I don't really know why people do it, maybe so the juices arnt wasted? usually our roasted veggies are seasoned like crazy with oregano, salt, pepper, ect, so really I think its just to add a heap of flavour. plus people love the taste of meat so maybe that's why they want it all the time?

I've recently been eating vegan due to protein allergies. I thought living gluten-free was tough, but vegan literally takes the cake. It seems like everything has eggs in it!
