I refused to pay for a membership. I have already paid OUTRAGEOUS sums for concert tickets, t-shirts and souvenirs.
We've all done that before now.

Suddenly, my computer board was not the same it used to be Why my Jukebox had to go, I don't know....lalalala Oh I believe in yesterday ... : The jukebox was the best idea you have ever had ! ...anyway, I will have $50 more to pay my XM radio... I was proud to be a Pioneer and Premium member but it's better to have only one category of fans...everybody who loves Paul's music. Sylvie P.S. I love you

A big 'thank you from paulmccartney.com", more like a big "**** you"...!! Ah, the excitement of the new site a year ago - watching the promo videos of all the work with HP - lots of exciting content promised - would be building up - expectations of seeing rare photos, seeing rare videos, hearing rare songs, whole collection being digitized so loads of stuff to share with the fans... I happily paid the premium membership - and quickly - as I wanted to be a pioneer member - a lifetime title apparently - got my pack of unimpressive t-shirt, choice of free download of albums I already had (being a fan I have them!!!), promise of extended membership without extra charge as the site was in beta. Kept regularly checking the premium members area - after a while I gave up as there was rarely anything new on there - maybe HP hadn't bothered doing their job or maybe it was too much trouble sharing with us... Obviously any pre-sales were irrelevant to me - Paul only seems to play shows everywhere else except the UK now - if only I was in America eh?! This is all after the disappointments of the re-releases so far - very expensive -again, especially if you're in the UK - check the price differences - do a currency conversion like I did and look in horror at how the British fans are charged more. Even when I did buy them, you'd be lucky to get one or two rarities - maybe when a rarities box set is done at the end of the re-release schedule..which by my reckoning will be 2038! Or super super deluxe versions so I can buy "Band on the run" for the fifth time! So much has been discussed/mentioned/promised and so little has been delivered. Can't tell you how much I am wholly 1000% unimpressed and ashamed by how utterly amateur the whole website has been run..especially for an artist of Paul's stature. Once again, I have wasted money and time..but that's o.k - because the website has sent me an e-mail to say thank you for wasting my time and my money which makes it all fine then. What's the point..? Nothing will get done, nothing will change! Like they're really going to read through these replies and respond to feedback or make changes or alterations. Clearly the website was designed on the cheap by a couple of cleaners who work at HP rather than professionals who do it for a living... Rant over.

What a poorman's replacement the new 'music player' is for the jukebox feature. : :

Thanks for the update. I will look out for an e-mail.

Other than the Jukebox and some scattered bonus content (some extra photo galleries and a few videos), I didn?t really notice much value of charging $50 for the premium membership. The t-shirt and litho I received was very cool, but nothing close to $50 I spent just a few months ago. I don?t mind that premium memberships are being taken away, but some of us just joined not too long ago and are really getting squeezed on this one. All complaining aside J,the site is terrific from a fan?s perspective. It has many HQ unpublished photos, tour itineraries, and album breakdowns. But I do wish there was more streaming content (live shows, both audio and video). Of the many suggestions I have, it still surprises me to this day that there isn?t a Paul McCartney/Wings box set. He could release it virtually on the HP Cloud to avoid the manufacturing end of the process if that?s a large expense of getting this material out. A ?virtual? live box and a demo/unreleased recordings box would be terrific. MPL sits on a goldmine of material. The ?Band on the Run?, ?McCartney?, ?McCartney II?, and ?Ram? reissues are outstanding and are offered in many impressive configurations. But there?s still cool little knick-knacks that could be realized for the hardcore fan who wouldn?t mind paying a little extra if MPL entertains a premium service in the future. Anyway, all rambling aside, the cancellation of the premium membership isn?t being well received here, but is understandable. In the grand scheme of all my McCartney purchases, $50 is a drop in the well, but I know it?s not for some who?ve dropped that chunk of change in expectations of something spectacular. But all in all, we have it good here.

Thanks for the update. I will look out for an e-mail.
yes thanks for the update...but why no answers to any of these questions? Why couldn't some of the features be kept? -jukebox (I know...you won't sell as many cds) -individual pages (no monitary value to you so why not still have them?) -sign in to ANOTHER place to leave a comment(discus) ? Is there not enough info on us out there??? shame...

Good points,do we really need to sign up to yet another service just to leave a comment?

More sites are preferring the Facebook/Twitter comments-option for security purposes and identity assurance. Still, I liked my profile at Paul's site, and its sudden disappearance was very disappointing.

Dont get me started on twitter and facebook they are far too dominant over the internet as it is

Thanks for the website message, I found it when I cliked on the jukebox. I'm puzzled people are saying they got email, I can't find one...I won't worry yet, as I see a post on here with an email. I don't object to doing away with the premium membership. I'd prefer to buy DVDs or downloads or CDs instead of using internet time to stream them, and have to be on-line for content. I do hope lots of content will be avaiable for sale via download. The jukebox was great for having an easy way of seeing all that is available to listen to, and for hearing what I haven't already bought. Once I've bought an album, though, I don't need to use internet time to stream it, so in the long term, I wouldn't need the jukebox once I get all the albums bought. I enjoyed the videos and pics, and news, but as I said, I like to buy and have availavle off-line. I'd llike to be able to load video to my Android tablet to play on long road trips with no internet connection. I didn't like that people were supposed to pay to be able to post a blog on the site - that seemed backwards, magazines pay for good articles and reviews, why would one pay to write them when there are free blog sites like blogger? I wondered if I ever decided to not renew my premium membership, would I then lose access to the blogs I'd written and posted? Anyway, I guess that's moot now. Though I paid, I didn't think it was fair to fans with less money, fans should be fans and be able to all talk to each other, not have some more important than others because they have more money. I asumed, and still assume the webmasters know there were little form boxes that looked like they were for the webmasters to post content. I thought it odd there were there for so long, but it didn't bother me much. But why not hire real website profissionals, who know proper coding, flash, java, C++ etc. instead of (apparently) trying to make a good site out of stock form site templates and features. A website speaks volumes about an artist or company. An artist as innovative as Paul should have a site with unique features. Find some computer genius hacker-types who can get the job done right. I'd love a download of live kisses, sounds fair to me. The plain t-shirt and bundle felt a bit like they were sending out all the stuff that needed to be cleaned out of the store because it wasn't selling as well as other stuff. But it was still nice. Assuming I do get the email and the download, I'd be a happy fan for sure. We were told the site was a beta and they were going to see how paid membership went, so no one should be shocked they decided to ditch the premium feature. I'm relieved, since I can then choose what to buy, and everyone is treated the same.

How do you leave messages over there now? You are not signed in? :
To post comments in the Disqus comment box that appears at the bottom of every news item you need to set up as personal profile with Disqus. Start by entering your comment Then log in via any of the social media options - Facebook, Twitter (which is having problems at the moment) or create a new profile directly with Disqus - enter a username (try to match yours here if available) an e-mail address and click "Next" You'll be sent a confirmation e-mail to confirm your e-mail address click that to do so. Then you set a password to your Disqus account. Once your account is created you can then merge/link it to your social media accounts, upload or link to your avatar on social media sites, chose whether you get e-mail notifications of new posts to topics you are following (or not... that was an issue on the old main site) There are extensive options to make the process interactive with the option to extend your comments to facebook or Twitter directly without further fuss. Looks like you can follow Disqus members and have followers as well in the same manner as Twitter - but I haven't checked all that out yet. If it's fully functional as described, seems like a good service. Martin
I don't want to use any of the sites to sign in to any other site. Enough said.

Ya know, we don't buy that anybody is really listening to us. Glad I had already decided one more concert and I was done.

I think people who are willing to pay for some features (like pre-sales tickets) should have a way to do it. Premium memberships are something you should 'rethink'.
-
Really need the premium content, videos and JUKEBOX!!! miss you!!! please!!!!

Hi, hope everyone is well. I haven't really returned, but since you can't post on the main site without connecting to a social network and I don't like that idea, I need to say what I wanted to say in this thread. IF Paul has anything to do with these changes at all, I guess the only thing he maybe did was to change the employees who take care of his website. Maybe he saw that there was no improvement on the old site and asked for a change. Who knows, I have no idea. I just don't believe that Paul really has much to do with this or ever really visits his website, which I think is totally ok, he's got other things to do and got people to work on this for him. So if we could all keep this in mind I'd really appreciate that

when send an email with to the premium members????
