Well I was surprised, that show was exceptionally good. Paul seemed surprised too! I think the crowd wanted to give him a special welcome back after all the hard knocks in the hospital & all. He got the message & played on & on. And boy does he look good, a lot of us thought he looked even better than last year. I talked to fans traveling back home in the airport, everybody loved the concert & Paul. New to me & really cool: he is playing the full songs, not just a half, I like this too. WE LOVE YOU MAN! THANK YOU!

Here's a review from the San Diego Union-Tribune McCartney at Petco, a full review: Wow! It was a night to remember as the former Beatle and veteran solo star Sunday performed his first public San Diego concert since 1976. By George Varga Sept. 29, 2014 The sustained roar of cheers and applause rising out of Petco Park Sunday night was loud enough to suggest the San Diego Padres had, improbably, just won their first World Series (despite having wrapped up another losing season earlier the same day). http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2014/sep/29/paul-mccartney-at-petco-park-full-review/ Moderator edit Post edited to conform with copyright forum guidelines
Wel, this saves me having to write s report! LOL pretty spot on. We had a great time from our 34th row field A3 seats. So different from our 3rd row, smushed up against the stage view point at a Dodgers Stadium. Both excellent shows, this one with more perspective. Paul sounded and looked in top form. Unexpectedly, the location was a big, fun surprise situated smack dab in the center of downtown and next the the Gaslamp district with all its cafes, bars and shops. We exited to the center of the entertainment district San Diego. Fun! And supper was had at Southpaw just behind the stage. We were on the patio so could hear some of the sound check and see the stadium from the outdoor patio where we sat ( thanks, zeke). From start to finish, in La Jolla yesterday morning, it was a very memorable adventure.

These are the worst videos you have ever seen but I worked to share for about 3 hours so I'm putting them up. I saw how bad they were, tried to fix it but I was missing the show & so I gave up. I do like the shot of the crowd, I got everybody I could, HOPE YOU SEE YOURSELF , you were a great audience, I had so much fun with you guys. Now before you click just know it is so bad that its funny. http://s857.photobucket.com/user/Nancy_Fallon/media/Paul/SanDiego9-28-14010_zps0b65b915.mp4.html?src=pbhttp://s857.photobucket.com/user/Nancy_Fallon/media/Paul/SanDiego9-28--=pb

When did he play half the songs? Hi R: At all the concerts in 2010, he may have sung the complete lyrics of the song but did not complete the song like it is on the album. So your not expecting it to end & it seems abrupt at first till you get use to it. Glad you enjoyed the show!
"Enjoyed" isn't enough, it was splendendent!

Cool! I still don't understand, not trying to be argumentative, but I know he truncated or shortened Venus and Mars/Rockshow in 2010, but I believe he plays all the other songs the same way in 2014 as he did in 2010. Or not? I am just confused.

I don't understand that either. I don't recall ever hearing half of any song, other than the Venus & Mars/Rockshow into Jet, as mentioned.

Oh, ok. There's another example. I guess there were a few shortened songs!

You need to have them at a photo sharing site like photobucket & they give you links to post here. You can use the link or click up above there on IMG insert your link, then click on img again & it will close the link. Poof! There it is. \Not sure if I explained it well enough but give it a try. ps...would love to see them!

I didn't mean it to criticise, I always thought he did it to fit in as many songs as possible. I don't know, I'll use the excuse the songs all end too soon no matter. :

More from the show - found on Youtube.
These are good, lots of people in the crowd, you can hear us all singing (I always wonder if Paul can hear us singing) and the 2nd one has a rough start but gets better fast. -
One more, this shows how good he looks so I had to include it.
